Have you ever heard of the saying that in law enforcement, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop because each situation is different?

It’s true, they’re unique as snowflakes.

No matter how long you have been working, you would still be surprised to encounter different situations.

Last May 07, 2023, Officer Chloé Woodmansee stopped a vehicle for failure to maintain the lane.

Upon further questioning, the gentleman told Officer Woodmansee that he had just left Cotton Eyed Joe’s, a dance hall in Pickens, South Carolina.

Officer Woodmansee had to investigate further to determine what happened and why the man was having difficulty staying in the lane.

As soon as he was cleared, they began chatting, and this is when Officer Woodmansee noticed the gentleman’s shoes.

He was wearing his dancing shoes.

They were unique and made a sound.

It was nothing she has ever seen before and to this; the gentleman smiled.

“Do you dance?”

This is what the gentleman, who we know from the comments as Fred, asked Officer Woodmansee.

She politely said, “No. I’ve never seen it before.”

The gentleman showed the kind officer his shoes, called clogging shoes, or simply ‘clogs’.

Clogs are indeed unique.

The beautiful of shoes are specifically designed for clogging.

These shoes feature taps on the toes and even on the heels, which explains why they have that unique percussive sound that is crucial for clogging.

They often make taps on clogging shoes of metal or even fiberglass.

When Fred realized that the officer was interested in clogging, he said he wanted to teach her a “two-step” on the road.

Laughing, Officer Woodmansee asked if they were to do it right there.

“Right there,” he replied.

The gentleman was patient and was eager to show the young officer how to do the two-step, but she was more interested in seeing how it’s done by a pro.

Surely, he obliged.

He showed her some signature moves.

“That’s awesome!” said Officer Woodmansee.

The police car’s dashcam and the officer’s body cam captured the adorable moment.

The next day, Pickens Police Department shared the clip and captioned it:

“We brought you traffic stop concert, and now we bring you the traffic stop clogging lesson. Officer Woodmansee has an eye for finding gifted people on traffic stops.”

People loved the adorable interaction.

Many asked what happened to the gentleman.

It turned out that he got off with a warning, and Officer Woodmansee got a free clogging tutorial.

You might be wondering about the traffic stop concert that they mentioned.

It was a month ago, around the month of April, when Officer Woodmansee and a colleague stopped a car and the investigation didn’t lead to a citation or an arrest.

Instead, they took time to chat and listen to a multi-talented man from North Carolina.

He played the spoons.

He also played a saw, and even guitar – thus being called the traffic stop concert.
