This Australian couple was going through a hard time, when they were invited to talk on the local radio station in Sydney, Australia. Matt and Kya were engaged and planning their dream wedding, when her mother passed away suddenly passed away. The wife and mother of two was devastated and was forced to put their plans on hold. Money had always been tight in their family with 2 kids and Matt unemployed, and after those recent events it looked like their small wedding with family and friends may not even happen.
Little did Kya know, Matt had written into the radio show saying that his dream was to give his wife the wedding that she deserved after postponing it and not being able to afford what she originally had wanted. A month later, Matt and Kya were invited by Kyle and Jackie O to the KIIS 1065 radio station to participate in what they thought was a new radio segment. Instead they were shocked to realize that they were being gifted a wedding valued at over $80,000.
The gift covered everything. The dress, the venue, the photographer, the honeymoon- everything was paid for. This wedding exceeded Matt and Kya’s expectations on every level, far from the small get together that they had originally imagined. The one thing that did remain the same, was their wedding song choice. The couple had chosen “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran as the song they would first dance to as a married couple. But Kyle and Jackie had one more surprise in store for the two of them.
At the reception, Kyle and Jackie O showed up to announce that the first dance was coming up. Matt and Kya were so excited and happy to be together, without even knowing what was coming next. “Ladies and gentleman the first dance as husband and wife bring in the wedding singer please,” announced Kyle to the room full of people, and none other than Ed Sheeran himself walked in to to the room sing the couples favorite song.
The couple was even more shocked than when they recieved the news they were getting an $80,000 wedding. Kya was so blown away she teared up as Matt pulled her in close to dance. The couple won’t have to worry about photos or videos from the tender moment, because everyone who wasn’t tearing up had their phones out to get a shot of the happy couple with their “wedding singer”.
