What does E-Y-E-S spell? Since youโre reading this, itโs not very hard to see the answer. However, for thousands of people being filmed and put on YouTube, they canโt quite seem to figure out what those four letters spell out when they hear it.
Heather Partin, from Williamsburg, Kentucky, came across the โE-Y-E-S trickโ and decided to try it on her husband. The result has the internet in tears of laughter.

Heather found the video on YouTube and thought it was hilarious. She knew she had to try it out on her husband. If youโre not familiar with the โtrick,โ here are the basics.
First, make sure the camera is rolling.
Second, ask the person what Y-E-S spells. They will most likely respond with a natural โYES.โ
Next, ask them what E-Y-E-S spells. At this point, mass confusion and hilarity should ensue.
For some reason, when people are asked what E-Y-E-S spells after being asked what Y-E-S spells, their brain goes haywire, and they canโt figure it out.

Heather films as she focuses the camera on her husband, Chris. She starts the riddle by asking him what Y-E-S spells and, of course, he answers correctly. So far, heโs not impressed by the complexity of the supposed brain teaser.
Next, she goes on to ask him what E-Y-E-S spells. Chris pauses to think for a moment and has the most hilarious response Heather could have imagined. These types of responses are what have millions of people in stitches across the internet.
Chris responds to the spelling stumper with โE-YES.โ You can hear his wife burst out into laughter, not expecting her husband to fall for such a silly and simple trick.

Heather continues to ask her husband the same questions, in the same order, and once again, Chris is confident that his โe-yesโ response is absolutely the correct answer. It would only make sense after all. If Y-E-S spells โyes,โ then E-Y-E-S must be โyesโ with a long โeโ in front of it. E-YES.
Heather repeats the riddle a few more times, and each time, Chris canโt understand how the answer could possibly be anything else. His brain is unable to picture the word in his head because the word โyesโ is at the forefront.
At one point, Chris asks his wife if โe-yesโ is a Spanish word. Heather completely loses it at that point. Her husband is still stumped.

Although we donโt see the end of the video, Heather told people on Facebook that he finally figured it out once she was able to write it down for him. Same goes for most of the people who have had their confusion filmed and posted on social media.
