A woman was pulled over by the Palmdale Sheriff’s Department on suspicion of DUI, driving under the influence. What she didn’t know was that it was all a ploy set up by her future husband.
Deputy Kevin Bowes knew he wanted to propose to his girlfriend, but he wanted to make it special. Something she’d remember for a lifetime. Well — it’s safe to say she will never ever forget the moment because it all started when she was pulled over by a police officer, and it was all caught on camera.
Deputy Bowes asked his colleagues to pull over his unsuspecting girlfriend; he said to tell her they believed she could be driving under the influence. Of course, this would be a shocking accusation to most people, but she’s a law-abiding citizen and so, of course, she cooperates. After all, her boyfriend is a deputy.
Deputy Bowes’ colleagues tell her that she’ll need to get out of the car to perform a few sobriety field tests. A bit confused as to what is going on, she complies.
Just as his girlfriend is touching her fingers to her nose to prove her sobriety to the police officer, her soon-to-be fiance runs and kneels behind her on one knee. The camera is still rolling as she has absolutely no clue as to what is going on, her back is facing away from the person filming.
Deputy Bowes kneels behind his girlfriend with an engagement ring on display. The unsuspecting has no idea what is about to happen and probably thinks she’s having a horrible day that she can’t wait to report to her boyfriend.
The officer tells the woman to perform one last test by spinning around in a controlled manner. When she does, she’s shocked to see her boyfriend asking for her hand in marriage.
At first, she can’t believe that the entire DUI stop was all a trick. But soon, the deputy gets an immediate positive and loving reaction as she runs into his arms for an embrace. All she can do is laugh and cry all at the same time.
“Is that a yes?” can be heard in the adorable video as she nods, unable to speak.
The completely stunned woman can’t help but collapse to her knees as she joins him on the ground. Emotions are clearly flooding over her. She gets to marry the love of her life, and she’s not getting a DUI!
