It is not uncommon for people who have earned some social and financial status over the years to donate some money to charity when they get the chance.
But nobody enjoys donating to charity more than renowned actor Dick Van Dyke.
The Mary Poppins protagonist is about to celebrate his 97th birthday and he makes sure to make every day in his life count.
As he has explained in interviews, he never forgets to start his day dancing with his beloved wife. He also admitted that lightening someoneโs day is what really makes him feel good and keeps him going.

Indeed, the famous actor never stops offering his help to those who need it the most.
He is known to help a local non-profit organization in Malibu, which aims at helping connect job seekers and companies.
In fact, he was recently seen buying winter coats from a local store and dropping them at the Malibu Community Labor Exchange.
And the best part about this is that he does everything by himself.
The celebrity actor chose the coats himself and he made sure to drive all the way to the non-profit and drop them off personally. Now, this is what we call dedication!
But this is not the only recent act of generosity that Van Dyke was spotted doing.
A couple of weeks ago, the man visited the specific non-profit again, and he made sure to give away $5 bills to homeless people and job seekers.
He also took time to talk with some of those people and seemed to be really interested in listening to their stories.
As Van Dyke explained, it just feels good to be able to make people happy.
โWhenever I have some fives I come by,โ he told the reporters that were around at the time. โโYou canโt do it all the time, though!โ
And those people know that he is a blessing for them all. Heโs really an angel on earth. One staff member at the local center even called him โan angel from Godโ.

The 96-year-old man never stops smiling. He always goes around with a smile on his face and, as he recently confessed in an interview with Daily Mail, heโs just โhappy to still be hereโ.
It seems that the actor feels blessed to have lived such a long and full life that he just wants to- literally- pay it forward.
Van Dyke has been married three times, with Arlene Silver being the last one, whom he married ten years ago.
The two enjoy dancing and living their best life together, while they never forget those who are less fortunate and need some extra encouragement, support, and even funds to move one step further towards pursuing their dreams.
And this definitely is a fulfilling thing to do.
