For whatever reason, Lourdes’s husband made it clear he preferred they not dye her hair. After seeing her new look, I think it’s safe to say he’s glad they didn’t listen.

Two lovely ladies got the surprise of their lives when they got chosen for makeovers on The Today Show. The ambush makeover team scoured The Plaza bright and early looking for two women to primp and pamper. The deserving women would get hairstyle to the stars Louis Licari and style expert Jill Martin to work their magic on them.

Louis Licari owns two successful salons in New York City and Beverly Hills. He says his goal in life is to offer women a color suited perfectly for their skin, face, and lifestyle. He believes the right look can take years off a woman’s face.

Along with Jill Martin has authored the book Fashion for Dummies and The Weekend Makeover, these women are in for quite a day of pampering and fun.

Who doesn’t love to be pampered?

First up was Lourdes Hembrick who is 52-years-old from Fort Worth Texas. She was so excited when she got picked from The Plaza and rarely treats herself but she is ready for a brand new look to kick off her new career. Finishing nursing school she was looking for a hairstyle that was a little more short and full.

The main thing she wanted is to get rid of her gray hair. The interviewer promises she will be “hottest nurse in town” and Lourdes replies with:

I can’t wait!

Her husband has his own ideas.

As her husband was blindfolded he anxiously admitted that he didn’t want his wife’s gray hair covered. Lourdes makes her debut into the room with excited voices of approval. Though the stylists didn’t heed his wishes, he is overwhelmed at his wife’s new appearance and all he can keep repeating is,

Wow, wow, wow!

I think it’s safe to say he didn’t mind a bit that the stylist chose to cover her gray hair after all. Before Lourdes even got to see herself, she couldn’t contain her tears seeing watching her husband’s reaction. She finally gets to see herself in the mirror and is overtaken with emotion. She truly looks beautiful as she praises the makeover team saying,

You did a fabulous job!

They left her hair long enough to tie back, softened the color, added a few highlights and Ta-Da – a brand new woman that looks fabulous! Clearly, the first makeover was a huge success!

Next in line for her makeover is a very busy woman juggling multiple careers.

Pam Kincheloe is a nurse, midwife, and lawyer. She admits she doesn’t take time to pamper herself, which with that many jobs, it’s quite understandable why. She said it’s been years since she found a good hairstylist and she hopes for a fresh start.

Pam wants to color her gray hair as she used to dye her hair and is excited to dye it again and hopefully look and feel younger.

Pam’s daughter-in-law and her granddaughter waited excitedly to see the new Pam. As she walked through the door the hosts yell “beautiful’ and tell her family members to remove their blindfolds. Clearly, overwhelmed the hosts tell her she looks gorgeous and Pam herself wiped tears from her eyes seeing her new self in the mirror.

Within a half an hour, years can be taken off your look.

All it took was a little shaping of the hairstyle, some color, and makeup – and suddenly she looks so much younger. What a fun memory to have her family with her to share in the joy of getting that fresh start she was hoping for.
