When a loved one is sent off to serve our country there can be a whirlwind of emotions. Itโs not easy having your dearest family or friend fly off to who knows where and to possibly put their life on the line. But when those loved ones return safe and sound itโs the most heart-warming moment. If youโve ever seen a surprise return home video, you might have had some tears streaming down your face.
Long Distanced Loved Ones
Itโs hard not to feel that pit in your stomach when you see how overjoyed family and friends are when their service member returns home. In this bittersweet video, a U.S Navy Seal who had been deployed in Virginia for 3 years was returning home to California. The Navy Seal decided he wanted to surprise his family when he returned home.
A Surprise Visit
So when it came to reuniting with his little sister Cassie, the Navy Seal joined the parents when they were picking her up from school. They waited patiently in the car for her to stroll on by, and she even passed the car up when her brother yelled to her saying,
โHey Cassie where ya going?โ
Wasnโt Expecting That
She turned around to find her big brother sitting in the passenger seat. Cassieโs eyes were glowing with excitement and shock as her brother hopped out of the car to give her a big hug. It was so precious to see how surprised she was when her big brother was just casually hanging out in the car. While sheโs getting a hug from her returning brother, you can hear her tearing up saying,
โOh my god. oh my god.โ
A Big Squeeze From Big Bro
She had never expected such a wild surprise, especially after 3 years apart. Thatโs a really long time to be away from your family without any visits. Even though theyโre probably able to have phone calls and maybe even video chat, itโs still hard to not hug or be in the presence of that loved one.
A Tear Jerker
This Navy Sealโs surprise was truly a success and weโre so happy to see this family reunite. You know what they say, โdistance makes the heart grow fonderโ, but that also comes with plenty of growing pains. Anyone who has family or loved ones in the service knows all of the struggles and how much it pulls on all of the heartstrings.
Reunited & It Feels So Good
But the sacrifice to serve our country is truly honorable. Thankfully there are ways to communicate with video chats and phone calls. Back in the day, they had to patiently wait for letters to arrive in the mail or wait to use the dial-up phone. This video definitely shows how thrilled this Navy Seals little sister is to have him home safe.

Sibling love is unconditional and it can be tough to watch your sibling grow up from afar. Itโs so heart-warming to watch this brother and sister be reunited after 3 years apart.
