Although being a delivery driver may seem like an easy gig, there are lots of stressors that come with the role. Anyone who’s been in a traffic jam knows how irritating it can be. Now, imagine dealing with traffic and other drivers while being on a tight schedule— after you’ve already been crammed in your vehicle for hours.
To manage stress, delivery companies are encouraging their drivers to take small breaks and engage in activities that help them feel more relaxed— and the driver in this hysterical video is doing just that!
In the video, you are introduced to the happiest delivery driver ever.
The footage, which appears to have been captured by a homeowner’s security camera, shows the delivery driver’s truck pulling up to the curb.
It seems the homeowner is expecting a package because unbeknownst to the delivery driver (and out of view of the camera), she’s waiting at the front door. Luckily for everyone, she shared the hilarious footage with the world.
As the man hops out of his van, he carries the woman’s package in one hand and his electronic scanner in the other.
He walks jovially with a bounce in his step; his only goal is to make sure the package arrives on time.
After a good five steps, however, he suddenly gets distracted. Beelining towards the right, the man approaches hopscotch squares drawn on the house’s driveway. Package and scanner still in hand, he decides to give it a shot.
Approaching the squares, the large man hop-hop-hops through the hopscotch board like a total pro.
When he reaches the end, he pumps his fists in the air, overjoyed by his accomplishment.
When he eventually sees the homeowner watching, he lets out a giant grin. You’d think he’d be embarrassed— but instead, he’s happy someone could appreciate his amazing hopscotch display.
“Did you see me do hopscotch?” he asks excitedly.
When the woman says she did, he pumps his fists into the air. “Yeeeeah!” he exclaims like a little boy.
Then, the two of them laugh and wish each other a nice day before going separate ways.
Since being uploaded last week, the hilarious video has been viewed thousands of times.
It’s really refreshing to see someone so happy while simply doing their work. It also offers a special reminder to appreciate life’s simple things:
“Just a man doing his job and enjoying his day. Top marks!”
“Nice to see someone enjoying their work!”
“Love this!! Everyone needs a break and to have fun! He sure did!! You go dude!!”
Thankfully, this man isn’t the only delivery driver enjoying his job.
