Going to the dentist is never a fun outing — unless you’re one of those people that happen to enjoy it, in that case, good for you! But for most people, it can be a scary, unpleasant and uncomfortable experience.
Having to go under anesthesia takes that “fear of dentists” thing to the next level. It usually means you have to go under the knife for some sort of procedure or surgery. Not the greatest experience.
Anesthesia, however, leaves some pretty hilarious after effects on some people. It can leave people dazed, confused, and acting like they’re in an entirely different universe or alternate reality.
Anesthesia can cause people to say some pretty hilarious things.
This kid, named David, just got a tooth pulled at the dentist. His dad decided to start recording the 7-year old as his anesthesia began to wear off. We couldn’t be more grateful that he did because David’s commentary is pure gold.
As David sits in the backseat of his dad’s car after the procedure, his dad asks how he is doing. David’s first response sounds completely logical and normal. Worth a chuckle but nothing too crazy.
“I can’t feel anything,” David slurs through his numb mouth and the anesthesia effects.
It’s understandable that David wouldn’t’ be able to feel anything, he’s most likely still pretty numb and visibly ‘out-of-it.’ His dad even comically agrees with him with a simple “yeah!”
The next thing that comes out of this kid’s mouth is an absolute comedy.
“Is this real life?!” the hilariously confused kid asks his dad.
After his dad confirms that yes, this indeed, is real life, it doesn’t seem to make anything more clear for the fuzzy-minded kid. His attention immediately goes to how many fingers he has — turns out he has a normal amount.
Now that the fingers have been counted and David seems satisfied that, all of the sudden, his attention shifts to another totally different direction. Thankfully — David’s dad is still recording this amazing moment.
David pushes himself up from the seat and belts out a random giant scream. Dad is still filming without a hitch.
It’s incredible that this dad isn’t completely cracking up the entire time watching his son act this way.
After the scream — the hilarity continues and it just gets better and better. It’s worth watching the entire video below a time or two — or five.
