COVID has taken a toll on lots of people’s mental health. Some people love quarantine life where all you wear is pajamas. But there are others that like to put real clothes on, do our hair, and maybe even put on some makeup.
At least some of the time. Being in our pajamas or comfy clothes for too long can make us feel unmotivated or even depressed.
A recent study from medical journal The Lancet found that the psychological impacts of lockdown can include anxiety, anger, sleep disturbances, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to CNBC.

You’ll hear most mental health professionals stress the importance of keeping a routine which includes showering and getting out of your pajamas.
Marion Williams of Bonaire, Georgia decided to visit Christoper Hopkins, The Makeover Guy, to get her out of her COVID slump.
“I’m just feeling tired. I blame it on COVID but it’s not really COVID. It’s a good excuse to wear slouchy clothes and a baseball cap because you can’t really go anywhere,” Marion explains.
Williams, who is originally from Texas, moved to Georgia about 26 years ago.
Which is about the same time she married her husband who she just shared an anniversary with.
At 57, going on 58 in December, she has five grandchildren and wants a new hairdo.
“It’s going every which way. It’s too flat, it’s too curly, it’s too fuzzy,” Marion went on. “I don’t like red. I don’t want to walk out wearing sweat pants and tennis shoes and a baseball cat.”
In her heart, Marion says she felt about 35 to 40-years-old before COVID.
“I was busy, I was moving, and I could grab something from the closet and I could look good. I would feel good and I could just go,” Marion said.
Marion is looking for that look good, feel-good feeling, and has one vision for her new look.
“I wanna be more sexy, that’s it,” she said.
So, Marion put herself in the hands of Hopkins and his team.
“Marion, from Georgia, has inconsistently frizzing/straight and flat hair. She has had her share of ups and downs and just wanted to close her eyes and let us do whatever we thought would work best,” the caption of Marion’s makeover video reads.
Marion started out with shoulder-length reddish-brown hair that was completely curly.
She looked like a completely different person after her makeover.
First off, she was blonde!
Her hair was cropped a bit with lots of layers for volume.
Then she got herself a smokey eye and a pink lip.
But more importantly, she looked like she had a little bit of burden taken off of her shoulders.
Her new look was a lot whole lot lighter.
“We decided to lift some of her brunette hair to a light blonde, give her the big hair she loves, and give a more dramatic and sexy look to the makeup. Her husband loves her no matter what, but he was pleased, she was so very happy,” the caption finished.
And that might be an understatement!
“Oh my God, it’s a little bit different. It’s a lot different. I love it,” Marion gushed, almost in tears. “Thank you, I’m shaking. I had the whole enchilada, it feels good.”
Her husband loved her new look and glad to see his wife happy and at ease.
“They improved on perfection! It helps when you got something to work with,” he said. “A flat top would have been fine with me. As long as you’re happy.”
Marion was just so pleased to be out of her home and feeling like herself again, though that self had a brand new look.
“I’m getting up. I’m going somewhere. I’m getting off the couch, out of the baseball cap, I’m here!”
