Darci Lynn and Petunia reach for the stars.
At just 12-years-old Darci Lynn stunned the world with her unforgettable America’s Got Talent audition. The uber-talented young lady from Oklahoma City entertained the audience with her very unique talent.
She gave a jaw-dropping performance of “Summertime” from Porgy And Bess and did it without even opening her mouth. That’s because Darci’s talents don’t stop with her voice. Not only a talented singer, but she is also a ventriloquist and her puppet is an adorable white rabbit called Petunia.
“How are you?” asked Simon Cowell. “I’m great!” answered Darci with a huge smile on her face.
Darci’s enthusiasm was about to win over not only the judges but the world.
When she stepped on the audition stage for the first time, America’s Got Talent judges had no clue what she had in store for them. They saw a young, bright-eyed girl but they got a powerhouse of an entertainer.
“Darci, why did you both decide to enter the show?” – Simon Cowell
When presented with this important question, she told the judges about her dream.
“It was one of my big dreams, but I would also like to keep ventriloquism alive because it’s not common, you know?” – Darci

Then the moment of truth came when Darci asked Petunia if she was ready. Petunia responds with an adorable, “Yep, I’m ready…hit it.”
The audience and the judges were in awe of her abilities and it was obvious they were wondering how this young girl could pull it off. Well, she not only gave a memorable performance that garnered millions of views online, but she also got the ultimate response from one of the judges.
“You know what’s really sweet? Your puppet I’m guessing is exactly like you…very charming and adorable. You made my heart melt. You are brilliant. I’m trying to describe how amazing it was. You know what?” – Mel B
At that moment Mel B stood up and hit the golden buzzer for Darci and Petunia. Darci was speechless again and couldn’t hold back her tears of joy.
Mel B went up to congratulate Darci and give her a big hug.
Darci amazed us all with that performance and her star keeps shining bright. She went on to win season twelve of America’s Got Talent.
The audience was on their feet and the sweet moment was even more special when Darci’s mom came out and gave her a big hug. Don’t worry, she also hugged the other member of the duo…the floppy-eared rabbit, Petunia.
