Planning A Trip? Here Are the Most Dangerous Countries To Travel In, According To Experts
This recent study might alter your travel plans.

Everyone dreams of traveling to foreign lands for a wonderful vacation and to experience different cultures and ways of life. But the last thing you want is to run into trouble while you’re in a foreign country.

So you’ll want to make sure you know what the risk in your destination country is in terms of road safety, security, and medical matters.

You just plop in the location and it will assess that country or region’s risk for you. According to a global survey by the Ipsos Mori Business Resilience Trends Watch 2018, about two-thirds or 63 percent of people believe that travel risks have increased over the last year, which is down from 72 percent who believed this the year before that.

They cited security risks and natural disasters as the reasons behind their thinking.

The survey also found that up to 58 percent of business travelers ended up changing their plans because of security threats and about 43 percent had to switch up their itineraries because of natural disasters, which include extreme weather events.

Forty-two percent changed their travel plans after seeing a country’s risk rating and 34 percent changed their plans because of civil unrest.

The countries were divided into low, medium, high, very high, and rapidly developing variable risk categories for health.

The U.S., Canada, much of Europe and Australia where found to have the lowest health risk while countries in Africa had a very high risk. Brazil, Russia, India, and China were in the rapidly developing variable risk category.

In terms of security, Canada, the U.S., China, and Australia were deemed to have low-security risks while Africa was considered to have a high to an extreme level of danger in terms of security.

As for road safety, you’d want to avoid most of Africa, as well as places like Kazakhstan, Russia, China, and Mongolia.

The fewest road accidents occurred in places like Canada, Australia and much of Europe.
