For many of us, just picturing middle-aged dads dancing on stage is enough to turn our cheeks beet red. Now throw those dads in Christmas sweaters… Sounds pretty cringy, right?
Believe it or not, this type of scenario has actually taken place before. In a video released by Sainsbury’s, five sweater-wearing dads walk onto a stage for a Christmas dance.
Amazingly though, there isn’t anything embarrassing about their performance!
Say hello to “The Christmas Jumpers.”
The five guys might look like fathers that are commonly told, “Stop, you’re embarrassing me!” But really, there’s no “dad dancing” here. They’ve actually got tons of slick moves up their sweater sleeves.
After an electronic remix of “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” fills the room, the dads fly into action.
The crowd goes nuts watching them show off their street-dancing skills.
That’s right, they’re the type of “cool dads” that can bust a move like nobody’s business! It’s not too often that you see sweater-wearing guys pulling out such awesome techniques.
One viewer commented:
“Took me back to my hip hop roots! That was FRESH!”
On top of being able to dance really well, their facial expressions are amusing too!
There’s more to this dance performance than meets the eye.
Each member of “The Christmas Jumpers” is wearing a “Christmas jumper” (which we call an “ugly Christmas sweater” in the U.S.) They’re sporting ones from Sainsbury’s, as the video is a brilliant advertisement for the company!
MailOnline reported:
“The stunt is a clever viral video for Sainsbury’s who revealed the group are actually professional dancers wearing jumpers from the supermarket’s Tu range.”
The video was such a huge hit that the dads decided to go further with their hilarious and entertaining act.
I mean, who wouldn’t want to see more moves like these? Seriously, they have to be the coolest dads on the block.
Another YouTube user pointed out:
“They did locking, popping, isolation, bboy. Good job!”
“The Christmas Jumpers” morphed into “Old Men Grooving” (or OMG for short).
If you’re a fan of Britain’s Got Talent, you’ve perhaps been scratching your head and thinking, haven’t I seen them before? That’s because OMG auditioned on the ninth season of the reality show, blowing everyone away (including Simon Cowell)!
While they didn’t win Britain’s Got Talent, they did come in fourth. It also helped catapult their careers as a group. On the Old Men Grooving website, it says:
“We have since been to numerous countries as well as wowing the UK, performing our original style of performance dad dancing. It’s now turned into a show and we have refined what we do to suit any occasion.”
Pretty neat for dads who first won the internet’s heart promoting Christmas sweaters! As you might have guessed, they’re all passionate about dance and inspiring others to dance as well.

“That was BEYOND awesome! No matter your age, you should NEVER stop dancing!!!”
