There is nothing more precious than a child’s laughter. When a baby laughs, it is infectious – and you will catch it! Luckily, this is just the type of contagious feeling you would want to catch.
Here’s a challenge: I dare you to try not to laugh while watching this video. It’s pretty much impossible. Hearing this baby giggle will instantly put a smile on your face.
So, why is she laughing so much? It’s her dad, of course! Dads always know how to brighten their daughters’ day, and this man is no exception. He would do anything for his little girl, and he is more than happy to make himself look silly to keep that bright smile shining.
It all started when Dad was trying to teach his daughter to speak. He wanted her to say “mama” and “papa.” One word came much easier than the other. When little Nowah had a hard time saying the Dutch word for “dad” her father got more creative in his lesson.
“Our baby daughter laughing and having fun while her dad tries her to pronounce ‘daddy’ in Dutch (papa),” Nowah’s mom captions the YouTube video. “‘Mama’ was no problem for her anymore, ‘papa’ proved to be a bit more diffucult. She was pronouncing it more like ‘baba’, so her dad started to emphasize the letter ‘p’. From that moment on, baby Nowah doubled up with laughter.”
That she did, and the result is adorable. Baby Nowah looks around with curiosity as her father smoothly pronounces the word “mama” – but as soon as her father says “papa” she is in an absolute fit of giggles. Is there ANYTHING more adorable?
Of course the strange sounding word is enough to tickle this baby’s funny bone, but there might be more to it. According to Angharad Rudkin, a clinical child psychologist, “Research shows that even very young babies change their behavior depending on the facial expressions of whoever is looking at them.”
So yes, Dad’s words are funny, but maybe its his own laughter that is causing baby Nowah to giggle so much.
Whatever the reason may be for this little girl’s happiness, it is clear that she and her dad are in the middle of a precious bonding moment. It is so sweet to watch this man entertain his daughter; he id definitely going to make a great parent.
