When talking about the social media platform Tik Tok, you will often hear people say that they feel too old for it, or that it’s only made up of 12-year-olds. Despite that popular belief, it’s not necessarily true. And there is a dad out there who is proving just that.
Tik Tok is home to thousands of viral challenges, many of which are dance-oriented. There was one specific dance challenge going around on the app lately which is set to The Weeknd’s hit single, “Blinding Lights.”
A dad from Kentucky decided to grab his sons and participate in the challenge as a family and the whole world is loving it. We might just think that this dad is winning the whole challenge altogether.
The hilarious Tik Tok clip starts out with the dad watching someone else do the challenge on his phone. As he watches, his two sons enter to ask him if he can do the dance. They tell their dad that “the people” need him.
At first, the dad pretends to be nervous about dancing. He is hesitant and questions whether or not he can do it until all of a sudden he changes his mind and he is up and dancing with his children.
The clip is absolutely glorious.
The sultry synths of “Blinding Lights” come in and suddenly, it’s a party. They all run downstairs to the beat of the song, open their garage, and perform right in front of the open garage door as if it’s their own little DIY stage.
The three guys seem to be filled with boundless energy as they bounce, step, and dab together in perfect unison.
The dad looks like he is thrilled to be there and honestly, he doesn’t seem out of place at all. He is doing great as he is the star of the show, dancing front and center!
The happiness on their faces is infectious.
They all nail the moves together. We even get some close-up shots of their faces which seem to be dramatically enthusiastic and happy. We don’t know about you, but this seems like a really fun family to hang out with.
At the very end, the two sons lift up their dad by his legs and twirl him around like the true dancer he is. It’s perfect, and it’s everything we’d want from a viral Tik Tok dance challenge.
