It looks like a shaky handheld family video, just like a lot of the videos on Kris Jones’ channel. He checks his daughter is ready as the two sit stationary in his car, and suddenly starts singing. If you’ve never seen one of this adorable duo’s videos before, be prepared for your jaw to hit the floor.

Singing His Heart Out

As Kris starts to sing, you’ll start to wonder what he’s doing behind the wheel of a car rather than on stage! The adorable bond between him and his daughter shines through as he powers through a soulful rendition of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me”. He doesn’t miss a note as his adoring daughter watches on from the back seat.

This isn’t a one-off. Kris Jones, who is a driver from Texas, originally went viral with his version of “Tennessee Whiskey” by George Jones. This is another video taken by his daughter, and you can see her adoringly lip-syncing to her dad’s singing throughout. The video has over 30 million views.

A Touching Message

In one of his videos, Jones has spoken about the transformation in his life since ‘going viral.”

“Y’all don’t really know how much this really means to me. How much it means to my family. Everything that I’ve done in life, I’ve worked so, so hard for. Nothing, nothing was ever given to me. It’s been a really long, hard road and I’m thankful for being where I am today.”

It’s easy to see why he’s so emotional about it. Kris must have thought his music career was never going to take off. He auditioned for The Voice, but was not accepted onto the show, and had all but given up on his dream when the viral video happened.

The Power of Viral

Jones shows a wonderful example of the power of a viral video. Since he released a group of videos back in 2017 he has become something of a sensation. He even appeared on The Ellen Show, with Ellen DeGeneres wanting to know everything about the singer’s past and his beautiful relationship with his daughter.

He has managed to launch a singing career off the back of these views, and has a small army of loyal fans who may never have heard Kris sing if it weren’t for his daughter’s videos.

Kris has managed to build a country singing career over recent years. He performs around Texas, regularly gets thousands of views on his YouTube channel and even writes and releases his own songs as well as cover versions, you can even check him out on Apple music!

Though some people have dubbed him “The Tennessee Whiskey Dad” we think Kris Jones is much more than just a viral novelty. Who knows, maybe his beautiful voice and truly adorable relationship with his daughter could see him get to the top of the country charts!
