According to BizJournals and Google, 93 million selfies are sent every single day. While a lot of these snaps are innocent face shots featuring pretty smiles or funny expressions, others tend to be a bit more provocative.
One Washington father, upon seeing his daughter Cassie’s sexy selfies being uploaded online, decided she needed to be taught a lesson.
Forty-eight-year-old father of 3, Chris Burr Martin took to Instagram to give Cassie a dose of her own sexy-selfie medicine, posting hilarious recreations of his daughter’s photos online.
He tells PEOPLE that the idea came to him after noticing that male friends had been leaving racy comments on his daughter’s pictures.
He says, “I thought, ‘Wow, that should be toned down […] But rather than throw water on the fire, I decided, ‘Okay, I’ll dress up like she did with stuff from around the house and post my own photo’.”
And the results are freaking hilarious.
Chris goes out of his way to mimic the smallest details of Cassie’s photos, like the heart decor in the background of this shot.
Each photo perfectly recreates Cassie’s sexy snaps, with the father’s homemade accessories, makeshift tattoos, and Dad bod rating high on the humor scale.
In my favorite shot, Chris even goes so far as to make a stuffed, scarecrow-looking boyfriend to help with his endeavor.
Chris may be getting more serious about his parody pics, with Daily Mail reporting that the 48-year-old even got his belly button to take his recreations one step further.
It has now been one year since Chris started posting selfies of (a now 20-year-old) Cassie, and it doesn’t look like he’s about to stop any time soon!
He has amassed over 156,000 followers (way more than his daughter) and is even making a splash with the ladies. In this YouTube video, he thanks one woman in Turkey, by saying, “I appreciated the shots of your butt in my e-mail— but my wife did not.”
It seems that Chris’s plan has had its desired results in regards to his daughter’s online behavior. He tells PEOPLE:
“Cassie has toned down her own selfies a little bit and she’s now more aware of the impact of them. So now, I guess I’m still doing this more in fun because everyone seems to get such a kick out of it.”
And get a kick out of it, they do, writing comments such as:
