These are tough times for all of us. The coronavirus pandemic has totally changed our way of life, forcing countless people around the world into quarantine for their own protection.
It’s been a weird adjustment, to say the least, and people have reacted to life in lockdown in many different ways.
Some of them are going a little stir-crazy from being cooped up indoors for so long, while others have adapted well and are using this time to their advantage, trying to learn new skills or make the most of the opportunity to hang out with their families.
Then, there’s this guy, who decided that even a pandemic wasn’t going to get in the way of his dad jokes!
A post recently popped up on popular image-sharing site, Imgur, entitled “My neighbors daily quarantine dad jokes he posts in his front lawn”.
The post is filled with photos of jokey signs that one LA man has been setting up on his lawn each day.
The jokes are totally cheesy and silly, but maybe that’s exactly what we need right now.
At a time when so many people are scared, lonely, and worried for themselves and their loved ones, a little laughter can definitely help to lift our spirits and brighten these dark days.
So well done to this funny dude for sharing a little happiness, even if his jokes are more likely to make us cringe than laugh!
The one above, for example, posted on Day 16 of the lockdown, is exactly the sort of dad joke that makes everyone roll their eyes, but it’s still just funny enough to make a few people smile too.
With each passing day, the ‘comedy genius’ has been going out to his lawn and sharing another new gag from his barrel of laughs.
They’re all pretty terrible, but quite cute at the same time, like the one above that starts off pretty simply and then surprises us all with the scarf punchline.
Then, on Day 18, the dad showed off his wordplay game with this ‘soap opera’ shower joke.
Maybe when the lockdown finally ends, someone should give this guy his own comedy show.
Day 19 gave us this funny gag, where the dad jokes about playing ‘rock, paper, scissors’ with the cops.
We have to give him credit, this one isn’t bad!
Get it? He’s playing on the old ‘Which came first, the chicken or the egg?’ thing.
Nice one, quarantine dad!
On Day 21 of the lockdown, the man’s neighbors were treated to this classic dad joke, and now they’re all just waiting to see how long he keeps the ‘comedy’ going.
The jokes might not be the best, but the guy doing them deserves a lot of credit. At a time like this, it’s great to see people taking the time to do little random acts of kindness or trying to spread some joy and laughter around, which is exactly what this man is doing.
