Children are so used to seeing their parents faces day in and day out that they can get pretty weirded out or downright upset when their parent makes a change to their appearance.
Tyler Behle decided to chop off most of his long beard and his daughterโs reaction to it was priceless.
โMy wife wasnโt the biggest fan of the beard but was a good sport about me keeping it,โ Tyler explained in the caption of his YouTube video. โBut for her birthday, I decided to shave it. I had the best helper doing it!โ
His helper was his young daughter Brixy. Not only did he chop off his beard for his wife but he caught it all on video so that she could see the whole process later on.
โShould we do it?โ Tyler asks Brixy before cutting into his beard. โWell, here goes nothing.โ
His curious little daughter asks why heโs combing it and he tells her heโs got to get it straight. He then enlists her help in getting rid of his beard by letting her hold the scissors as he positions them in place for her to chop.
โDonโt cut my face,โ he says guiding her hand. โCut right here. Cut hard!โ
Brixy takes direction and helps her dad make the first few major chops into his beard.
โGood job,โ he tells her. โLetโs see it now.โ
He takes over working the scissors when she asks, โWhy are you cutting your beard?โ Tyler explains to his daughter that heโs cutting it because โMommy is gonna like it better when itโs cutโ and since โwe love mommyโ it was time for it to go.
Just like a good helper, she helps her dad decide where to chop next and wipes away the fallen hairs off of his hand.
At one point, she even takes one of the spare razor attachments and mimics shaving her neck as her dad does the same with the actual razor.
Then comes the kicker.
โYou look funny without your beard,โ Brixy tells her father.
He laughs and asks โHandsome or funny?โ
โYou look funny,โ she tells him. โI like it with your beard. Put it back on.โ
Well, I guess you canโt please everyone! Then his curious little girl asks the most important question.
โAre you still daddy?โ she asks.
โYes, Iโm still daddy,โ he says laughing.
โBut you look funny without your beard,โ she says touching his new cropped facial hair.
The end of the video shows their surprise reveal to mommy, but not before dad and daughter get a little silly.
Tyler glued a piece of his beard to some paper and attached some string to it to make a little beard that Brixy could wear.
When they later video chatted with mom, Brixy answered the call with, โHi, Iโm Daddy,โ in a gravelly voice, which made her mom giggle.
โOh, hi daddy! Whatโs that on your chin,โ her mother asks. โIt that daddyโs beard? Did you shave it? Did daddy shave his beard? Let me see!โ
