Viral dance videos seem to come along every day, and sometimes every hour. If you blink you might miss it. But it’s the ones that stick around that you might want to pay attention to. And those are usually the special ones.
12-year-old Austynn Samarco set up the camera to record herself dancing to one of her fav line dances.
Then in strolls dad looking like a colorful tourist at a beach resort. Does this bother his daughter? Does he even have any dance moves?
Dad, Josh Samarco, doesn’t annoy her daughter when he joins in looking funny with no fashion sense. It might be because he has the rhythm, and he has the moves. Not only is Dad the apple of his daughter’s eye, but he’s also a stellar dance partner.
The video is so much fun to watch, it’s not hard to see why it went viral.
When Austynn and Josh danced together to “Watch Me” by Silentó, the whole world seemed to watch. Once again it’s dad’s down-home fashion sense and their flowing hip-hop dance moves that make the video a real treat.
That video has racked up over thirteen million views.

“It was crazy,” Austynn said. “That was honestly the best day of my life.”
It was a special day for Austynn when they were invited to the show.
All was going as planned when Ellen asked Austynn and Josh to get out of their seats in the audience and step up in front of the cameras. Millions of people were at home watching when Ellen asked them to dance. But she had an added bonus for the father-daughter dancing duo.
They weren’t going to dance to a recorded song. No. Ellen had a special guest to perform the song. None other than recording artist Silentó himself.
“Watch Me,” if you don’t already know, is a huge hit amongst the youth of the world. The song has become a dance craze, combining two different dance moves, the Whip and the Nae Nae. Kids have gone crazy over this song and dance.
Austynn and Josh joined Silentó onstage and danced as he performed his hit. The crowd went wild and the home audience tuned in and a viral sensation exploded with even more views.

Dad jumps in with his smooth moves like he’s that quiet cousin who shines on the dance floor at Aunt Florence’s wedding. He’s swaying and grooving as his daughter keeps the pace. She perfectly performs all the moves. Dad’s dancing is a bit looser, with a “dance how you feel” style.
Austynn and Josh created numerous more dance videos together. Their joy in dancing together has been fruitful on YouTube.
“We like making videos just for fun and this was just another video,” Austynn said. “I still can’t believe it went viral.”
Austynn has grown up since her appearance on Ellen, and she’s moved on from making dance videos with her dad.
She is currently modeling and starting out vlogging as a YouTuber. And after a break from dancing, she’s back at it again.
Dancing together is a cherished memory for Austynn and Josh. They’ve shared some great experiences due to their little living room dance sessions. Creating a bond that will only grow stronger as the years go on.
“The best part of it all is the bond that we get to share when we dance,” Austynn said.
