Some families are taking to Youtube and Tiktok to debut their unique moves and put on a performance of a lifetime for audiences all over to enjoy. In Texas, a father and daughter duo remind us that there is truly nothing like putting on one of your favorite tunes and letting the music move you in whatever way you feel like.

Although this isn’t Michael and Ali Hoffman’s first time going viral. Five years ago they were stuck in their Dallas home due to icy roads which is when they first got the idea to make a dance video titled “Dancing Hoffman Family – Icy Day Challenge” with 83,811 views today. They captioned the video saying,

“When it ices up in Dallas, we celebrate the only way we know how! We expect you to get your groove on… and post it!”

Five years later, Ali and Michael have decided to bring back that same energy during a worldwide stay-at-home order and challenge other families in quarantine to post their own dance videos using the hashtag #QuarantineChallenge2k20. This time when Ali posted the video on Facebook the post went viral within 72 hours with more than 183,000 shares and 5 million views. Captioning their video,

“When the times seem a little dark it’s just a call to be more LIGHT! Let your joy fly, crank the tunes and dance in the kitchen!”

At first, all you see is Ali standing in her kitchen lip-syncing to the song “Hold My Hand” by Jess Glynne with a little bit of air piano motions when Dad makes his great first entrance.

As the song escalates Ali and Michael do not disappoint their viewers by the heat they are cooking up in the kitchen with their dance moves. Ali continues to lip-sync effortlessly with little bursts of smiles at times due to Michael providing great backup vocals for the chorus while simultaneously sliding and bouncing around their kitchen.

You cannot help but giggle with them as they are leaving it all on the dancefloor that is their kitchen area. At one point even Mom, Michele, jumps in to enjoy the fun and the release that dancing brings.

For the whole 3 minutes and 47 seconds of the song not once do Ali and Michael take a rest. The Hoffman family spreads happiness through lip-syncing, playing the air drums, piano, or trumpet. As the final note comes you watch Ali stretch her hands up to the sky for the grand finale. Then once the song ends she walks over to the camera out of breath but still smiling from cheek to cheek.
