Sometimes we have more in common with things in nature than we might think.
By way of example, consider going to a party with a group of new friends. Although you may be excited to go, you still don’t want to be crammed into a room with hundreds of other people like sardines. You might to keep your personal space.
As it turns out, so do many different types of trees.
This phenomenon is called “crown shyness” and is observable in a wide range of different species of trees.
