Apart from the brave front liners and some weirdos who still won’t stay inside their homes, everyone is doing their part in making sure that the CoViD-19 global pandemic will cease its spread sooner by practicing home quarantine.
For naturally introvert individuals, remaining within their houses might seem like a menial task. But, for people who love to be outside and are always yearning to mingle, this lockdown period may seem like a really, really dull phase. They just can’t stand the boredom!
It’s a good thing one husband found a way to make his home “staycation” interesting and creative. Do you want to know how? By creating a menu worthy of a 5-star rating!
Jeffery ‘Butta’ Johnson, a self-taught chef, wanted to give his wife something to smile about after they realized that all the date nights they planned are now canceled because of the lockdown. And so, he thought about what to do to still get the date nights he and his wife wanted despite being told to stay at home.
To make the dinner date special, Johnson created a full-course meal and gave his wife a date night to remember. Who said we should give up with the tiny pleasures that we used to enjoy before the lockdown, right?
We may be inside our homes and told by authorities to remain on quarantine, but we are certainly not prevented from enjoying life and finding happiness in the midst of these troubled times. Johnson believes that his wife deserved a wonderful dinner date and so, he took her to “Quarantine Grill”.
Johnson absolutely loved cooking and instead of longing for the fancy restaurant meals that he and his wife could have gone to, he decided to do everything on his own and cooked up his own menu, which he even printed out along with a “reserved” sign that he placed on the table. Talk about taking things further, huh.
And judging from the menu he whipped up, we can totally agree that this guy is one creative and talented chef!
First off the menu is the appetizer.
Johnson made a jumbo lump crab cake with a spicy remoulade sauce, starting the dinner right. That crab cake looked absolutely appetizing, indeed!
Next, the chef offered a Cajun stuffed salmon. The stuffing is a savory mix of grilled shrimp asparagus and parmesan cheese topped with lemon slice and scallions. Yum!
And it just keeps getting better and better!
Of course, a full course dinner won’t be complete without delicious side dishes that make the entree even more special and mouth-watering. Johnson prepared sautéed collard greens with spicy andouille sausage and garlic herb mashed potatoes.
And finally, Johnson completed his special dinner on a sweet note by offering a strawberry cheesecake topped with some fresh strawberries. This chef definitely wowed his wife who probably had a really satisfied tummy with all that sweet and savory goodness.
Johnson took to Twitter to share his accomplishments. His post totally inspired a lot of people online and we certainly understand where all the buzz is coming from!
Some are really amazed by his cooking skills.
Some people commend him for being such a romantic and thoughtful husband.
And some are jokingly asking where to find someone like him!
The fact that Johnson is completely self-taught is quite incredible. And since he confirmed through Twitter that he has his kitchen fully stocked, we probably can expect another opening of his fabulous “Quarantine Grill”.
