35 Crazy Ways People Have Moved Mattresses

There are right ways to do something – and then there are wrong ways. These 35 people demonstrate how NOT to move a mattress. For likely a myriad of reasons, they decided not to get a moving truck and instead attempt the feat themselves. Though it can look quite funny to see the crazy ways people have moved mattresses, it aslo can be quite dangerous. Hopefully they have learned their lessons and next time will either rent a proper moving truck or hire a professional.

1. Seven Mattresses . . . One Car

When you see something like this, you have to capture it on film. While driving down the road in Phoenix, AZ a small car with seven mattresses were strapped on the top. Just when you think you’ve seen it all . . .

2. Dude In The Back

Look closely . . . do you see the dude in the back holding down the mattresses best he can driving down the road? And it doesn’t appear any straps are being used. Let’s hope that they aren’t planning on going very far.

3. Stack Them And Strap Them

Even transporting one mattress strapped on top of a mini-van seems a little sketchy. But three?

4. Flipping Around

Though it does appear straps are being used – it also appears not enough of them are to keep the mattresses laying down flat.

5. No Worries, I’m Using My Arm

From all appearances there doesn’t seem to be any straps holding this mattress down – but don’t worry, he’s using his arm.

Perhaps getting a moving truck would have been a much better solution . . .

Likely they did their best to get the straps as tight as possible, but once that wind started, these mattresses just couldn’t keep still.

The drivers behind saw this disaster about to take place, but thankfully in the nick of time the driver of the truck pulled over to hopefully tie the mattress down more securely.

It is a very nice car and they do look like nice mattresses, but beyond that nothing else about this picture adds up.

The state troopers of Tacoma were able to stop this driver before any disaster took place. Though they did take time to strap all these mattresses down, nothing about this looks safe.

Yes, that’s a queen-sized mattress on that little car. It almost looks like the car is about ready for take-off.

They got the mattress secured down best they could and made it safely to its new residence, but they forgot one tiny detail: How were they going to get out of the car?

If you show up at the Mattress Lot in Portland, Oregon, on bicycle – then they will deliver your mattress to you . . . on bicycle.

14. How Strong Are Those Ropes?

This mattress seemed to take on a mind of its own hovering and billowing about the top of this vehicle. The other drivers tried to get their attention to the problem, let’s only hope they pulled over to strap it down more securely.

15. “How Not To Move A Mattress”

The police department in Post Falls posted this with the headline

“How not to move a mattress. The cost of a few tie downs is a lot less than a trip to the emergency room. Yes, someone in North Idaho thought that this would be a great way to get a mattress home today.”

Let’s just hope they didn’t have far to go.

16. Chilling With A Breeze

While waiting to get on the ferry, another driver looks over to see a dude chilling under some blankets on a mattress strapped to the roof of his car. I think I would have gotten out my camera too.

17. What Could Go Wrong?

A mattress strapped to a Prius in the fast lane, what could go wrong . . .

18. Big Mattress, Little Car

The person capturing this photo reported last week they saw a limo pulling a boat, and this week a mattress strapped to the car. Who knows what lurks around the corner next . . .

19. It’s Not Going To Hold Much Longer

The passenger of the car behind immediately got out their camera to film this mattress whipping around. The driver seemed unaware and it doesn’t appear those straps were going to hold much longer.

Apparently the driver of the truck felt it was unnecessary to tie down the mattress, and you guessed it. It flew right out of the truck sailing across the highway.

Apparently they ran over a mattress that flew off someone else’s vehicle. But yet, they are still driving down the road. I guess they aren’t aware of what is happening?

At first glance you wonder if that is a person hanging out the car window doing their best to hold onto the mattress – and yes, as unbelievable as it is, that is what you are seeing.

It does appear they have at least used rope to tie these mattresses down, but lets just hope they won’t go 45 mph as the speed limit gives for the road they are on.

Not only does the driver have his arm out, the passenger in the backseat is offering his arm too. I guess it’s a good thing there are at least two because we aren’t seeing any ropes.
