Can you say seeing double? Gary and Charlotte Cheney were tearing up the floor at this Jitterbug event, when a seemingly uninvited guest came and joined the fun.
It all ended really well, though.
This takes place at Chicago’s Windy City Jitterbug Club. They’ve definitely got the jitter in their bodies, look at that shaking and gyrating! Having that kind of flexibility and rhythm at this age doesn’t come easy. Gary and Charlotte probably dance in their free time. Where else would this confidence come from?
And in case you had any doubts about that, wait till you see Charlottes fantastic spins and leans. Gary, of course, is quick to catch her. The jitterbug is pretty famous for its wild, spinny and sudden movements like this. It’s for those very reasons that people love it as a couple’s dance.
He has to be, this is a couple’s dance!
This funky piano music might be a big help, because Charlotte even manages to do a couple dozen spins in one go. She doesn’t look the slightest bit dizzy either. Awesome job, Charlotte! I’m sure half of us watching back home would throw up or fall over if we even tried that.
Let’s not forget Gary’s snazzy, shining silver shirt either. It’s not everyday you get to wear something this shiny!
But dressing nice isn’t going to let you win any dance competitions. These two have the moves to back up the outfits too, thankfully.
Gary and Charlotte are clearly seasoned Jitterbug dancers. They do a few more of those fantastic falls, leans and spins, all without missing a beat. It’s halfway through their performance when the real show starts!
Looks like Charlotte’s not the only person here with a striped top and a bob cut. Someone gets up from the audience to join them, and it’s…also Charlotte? She’s got the top and the hair and everything. Who is this person?
Turns out, it’s Debbie Wheelis. She just looks a lot like Charlotte!
Charlotte and Gary sneakily planned the surprise. I can imagine that finding someone who looks just like your partner would bring some fun ideas to the table. Charlotte’s doppelganger, Debbie, is just as good a dancer as she is too!
Pretty easy to see that no one was ready for this, other than Gary, Charlotte and her double.
Let’s tip our hats off to Gary as well for keeping up with two dance partners. That man’s got coordination and it definitely shows.
Debbie and Charlotte look the part of each other, and they dance the part too. There’s some commendable moves and rhythm from both of them, and the matching outfits only make the show better.
If the audience loves a performer so much, it’s only natural that they get treated to two of them, right?
They came for a Jitterbug, and they got a triple threat performance. Goes to show that performances don’t always go the way you expect, especially when crowds just love surprises. Who says the Jitterbug can’t work as a trio too? The more the merrier.
Charlotte, Gary and Debbie’s performance as a dance trio is down below. Watch the whole thing, and don’t forget to share this article too!
