When Jo and Kevin met in 1967, they knew they were meant to be together.
They got along great, could make each other laugh, had great conversations, and felt like they had known each other forever. They have now been married for 49 years, and they are still just as in love with each other.
Over the years, a lot of things have changed for the couple.
They now have five children, 14 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. There is one thing that hasn’t changed over the years, and that’s their style. In all the years they have been together, they have never changed their look. It was time to change that.
Their family members encouraged them to apply for the Ambush Makeover on the “Today Show.” They wanted to them to make some changes and improve their style. After 49 years together, it was time. Still, the couple was nervous about getting a makeover. They were happy with the way they looked and used to seeing each other that way. They also weren’t sure if they wanted to get a makeover on television.
They decided to apply but figured they wouldn’t get picked anyway.
Little did they know, they were chosen, and the Ambush Makeover team was headed their way. They were about to become new people. Would they be able to recognize each other?
When it came time for the makeover, they were both nervous, yet excited. Kevin said;
“I can just imagine what you’re going to do to me.”
It was Jo who got the first makeover.
They trimmed her hair, colored it, and did her makeup. They also went shopping and picked out a new outfit that was flattering to her shape and figure. It was a pretty extreme change. Jo was used to having long, undone hair and wearing baggy T-shirts and jeans every day. Still, she loved her new look. She said:
“Wow! Oh my gosh! Are you kidding me? That’s not even me. Who is that? Oh, I look absolutely gorgeous!
Then it was time to see Kevin’s big reveal.
Kevin had been sporting a long, white beard. He was a hard worker, and he often dressed the part. His wife had a hard time picturing him looking any other way. She was about to be surprised.
Kevin walked out with a freshly trimmed beard and a short haircut, and he was wearing a suit. He looked like a new man, and his wife approved of it. She said:
“Who are you? I can’t believe it! You’re so handsome!
Kevin was just as shocked to see himself in the mirror.
He hadn’t seen himself without a long beard in years. He even had to do a doubletake. He said:
“Whoa!”
Both Kevin and Jo seem to be happy with their new looks. They are still the same people and still have the same great relationship; they just look a little different now. Their family members and friends are just as happy and surprised to see their new look as them.
Of course, now that they revealed themselves on television, everyone knows how great they look.
The best part of their makeovers is that they are easy for them to maintain. They can both keep their new looks without putting in too much effort or taking a lot of time out of their already busy lives.
They can still look amazing and have plenty of time to spend with their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and, of course, each other. They may fall in love all over again now that they both have new looks.
