Keeping things a secret from your family and friends is no easy task. Especially, when that secret is a pregnancy and newborn child.
But somehow, Ben Hinders and his wife were able to pull it off.
Not only did they keep the birth of their daughter, Ivy, a secret from all of their family and friends, but they got video of everyoneโs reaction when they introduced them to Ivy for the first time.

And the reactions were truly beautiful.
โA huge Thank You to the friends who helped us keep the surprise safe,โ Ben wrote on the videoโs YouTube description which has more than 780,000 views. โYou know who you are!โ
According to Ben, it was all his wifeโs idea. She came up with the idea while they two were on a road trip in 2015. The couple ended up getting unexpectedly pregnant and decided they would put the idea to the test.

โWe thought there was no way we could pull it off, but it worked out,โ Ben explained. โAnd we do live really far away from our families, and no family came to visit us. With how connected the world is these days, there arenโt many big, yet joyful surprises I guess? So, we went for it. My wife was the champion obviously, I would never have asked her to keep it a secret. But babies used to get born without family helping or knowing, so I guess we just scaled it back to โpre-internetโ days?โ
The couple finally introduced Ivy when they made a visit to their families.
The looks on their faces were absolutely priceless, especially Ivyโs grandpa who just said, โNooo,โ with his mouth agape. โWhat?!?!โ
Though many who commented on YouTube expressed how beautiful the video was and how happy they were to witness such a huge surprise for so many people, there were others who didnโt quite understand it.

Some even said that their families would be so mad if they kept such an important secret from them.
โFair enough! Honestly, I donโt blame you one bit,โ Ben responded to one commenter. โYet, when you live so far away, and they werenโt going to visit anyways, what could they actually have done besides call in, you know? But fair enough, and youโre definitely not wrong.โ
Most people gushed at over how cute Ivy was and how special it was for her to be introduced to her family and friends this way.
Ben says he looks forward to showing his daughter the video when she grows up.
โWe have to make sure it doesnโt go to her head, but it will be such a great way to show her how loved she is!โ
