Evocative. Sensual. Addictive. Many words come close to describe the beauty of dance.
The calculated choreography and brilliant movements coalesce to nothing less than a brilliant spectacle. Thereโs really no way to put in words.
Some of us have the urge to put the work into the grindstone. Look no further than Autumn Jones and Brennar Goree. The incredible duo show their dazzling moves in this breathtaking performance. Youโll truly be impressed with their work!

Brennar is a department of defense contractor for the United States Army National Guard, while Autumn works as a cosmetologist and bartender. Their routine is set to Jerry Lee Lewisโ edition of the rhythmic song โDrinking Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee.โ The duo set the dancefloor on fire with their mind-blowing moves.

This dynamic duo have had some history together. They first met at the young age of eight and started Carolina Shag dancing together at 13. The competitiveness and passion for dance inspired the couple to excel tremendously; becoming masters at their craft. In addition to becoming champion dancers in Shag, theyโve also won recognition for their skills in West Coast dancing.

Autumn and Brennar are avid travelers and are happy to spread Carolina Shag to people across their journeys. Their son, Connor, has even begun to take dancing instructions from Autumn who is thrilled to teach their son dance style.
The video clip shows them participating in the National SHAG Dance Championship. The competition is a three-night event featuring over 50 contestants in six divisions: Junior I, Junior II, Non-Pro, Pro, Senior and Masters. The two have for a long time impressed judges with their killer moves.

Itโs no surprise that this isnโt their first rodeo.
The couple pays homage to a style called โthe shagโ. The shag originated in South Carolina in the 1940s. It quickly rose to prominence and became popular within the younger crowd and later became associated with the โbeach musicโ style.

Historically famous dancers such as Billy Jeffers and โChickenโ Hicks emerged as pioneers of the vibrant community that rocked the dance around beaches to later influence the entire country during the 1940โs and 1950โs. In South Carolina and other southern states, itโs commonly referred to as a โcold beer on a warm night at the beachโ.

The couple shows off moves like the classic foot shuffle. Goree makes it look like heโs ice skating on the road with how silky smooth he is. His bravado clearly demonstrates heโs done this before.
Did we mention the chemistry?
Both our dancers show their comfort with each other by how light and agile they act around each other. Itโs as if theyโre both hypnotized by the mesmerizing effect of dance.

The NSDC have a fantastic website that share how past winners have resulted in their previous competitions on television shows like CBS This Morning and Good Morning America. Theyโve also participated and competed at events including the Beach Music Awards, NBA games, and PGA Annual Banquets.
The spin move here is enough to cause a shakeup. The two maintain excellent poise throughout and bring the audience along for the ride.

Speaking of twists, this yo-yo like move really sparked things up. Autumn really keeps control throughout and is a prime example of a true professional.

Finally, locked eyes together for a brief moment after their final twirl of the competition. Autumnโs face brimmed with satisfaction from such a marvelous performance, while Goreeโs showed a humbled smile of gratitude for the moment. The two didnโt simply stun the crowd, they won 1st place in the competition!

Although Brennar and Autumn make it look like a breeze, thereโs no doubt that the work put behind their companionship and love for dance was the real fruit of their labor. Be sure to enjoy their electrifying performance in the video below!
