Autumn Jones and Brennar Goree are partners — both dance partners and romantic partners. And their chemistry shows when they are dancing. They definitely use it to their advantage, as they should!
Their chemistry is so strong, it earned them the winning prize in the 35th Annual National SHAG Dance Championships (NSDC) in the Professional Division. They also became Overall Champions of the National SHAG Dance Championships. No big deal or anything.
The couple has been dancing together ever since they were young and this definitely isn’t their first big accomplishment. They have had many wins along the way, but this performance is quite impressive.
As soon as they take the stage, they are on fire and they light up the rest of the floor… Which makes it hard to believe that dancing isn’t a full-time job for either of them.
Autumn is actually a cosmetologist and bartender while Brennar works as a partner of defense contractor with the US Army National Guard. Dancing together is just one of the many things these two do, yet they do it so well. You would think that they dedicate their lives to just dance and only dance!
The music kicks in and they immediately set off with the most amazing energy and fancy footwork. Not even ten seconds in and Autumn whips out the most impressive spin — it looks like she did multiple 360-degree turns in just a matter of seconds!
Both of them have such confidence too, which is especially so important for a dance performance such as this.
All of their movements are so fluid, it really looks like they are swimming with their feet!
The way they move their feet is incredible. All of their movements are so seemingly smooth and subtle that, although they are moving all over the floor, it almost feels as though they are walking on water.
The crowd watches in amazement as the two continue to swing and spin around multiple times — it kind of looks like they could be dancing inside of a snow globe, it’s so perfect!
Autumn even does a few dips and slides with her feet which, like all of her other movements, are so smooth and impressive.
“WOW, these two kids will never grow old, they will remain kids forever. Just fantastic. I was wondering how much they practice to become so good, will be interesting to know, or are they just naturally blessed,” one person commented in amazement.
“Now, thats how to Shag Dance! Smoothest moves and fluidity in their steps,” another person wrote.
We couldn’t possibly agree more — what they managed to do in their performance was incredible and absolutely deserved the winning prize!
The NSDC takes place in Myrtle Beach every year since 1984. Apparently, it’s the “the longest continuously running shag dance contest in the United States.”
The track they chose, Jerry Lee Lewis’ version of “Drinking Wine, Spo-Dee-O-Dee,” was also a great move. It’s fast-paced, has a nice swing to it, and really set the mood perfectly.
Their feet are so fast it’s almost hard to catch up with them!
