Cop crashes a loud college party but instead of shutting them down joins the fun instead
I think it's safe to say that none of these college guys will ever forget their encounter with the officer that day.

In most scenarios, when a police officer attends a college party, it’s usually bad news.

But one weekend, students at Lehigh University, Bethlehem, encountered a cop who was a little different from what you’d expect.

Not only did he not shut down the party, but he actually got involved in the fun, leading to one of the greatest feel-good videos we’ve seen this year.

Officer Ra’Von Burton was out patrolling when he spotted the game of baseball taking place in someone’s front yard.

The 23-year-old police officer got chatting to the group of students, and it soon became clear that one of the teams was losing quite badly.

“They needed help, they told me bottom of the 9th, bases loaded, two outs, and they needed a designated hitter,” Burton told WFMZ‘s Julia Rose.

Having just finished college himself, it seemed that Burton was a little nostalgic from his days of being a student, and was more than happy to get stuck in.

“I was basically just being one of the college kids, I just graduated last year from Moravian,” he said.

As a standout on the football field during his time at Catasaqua High School, Burton knew a thing about sports.

Burton’s incredible hit — which sailed over the house and out of sight–was caught on film by one of the students. After being posted online, the video soon went viral.

The police officer was chuffed to become an internet celebrity, and said he hopes that the video shows another side to cops in the US.

“It looks good for our department and basically with the goal, which is what I see a lot of police officers trying to do, and that’s bridge the gap between the community and the police department,” he said.

At the end of the day, cops are just humans like you and me.

“Police aren’t bad, I mean we’re people at the end of the day, and we can be a person when we’re on the job as well,” Burton said.

Since the video blew up online, Burton has received lots of attention from people all over the world. But despite his incredible baseball skills, he still manages to remain humble.

“They’re calling me all-star and rookie of the year,” Burton said. “A lot of the attention that it’s gotten on social media, it has had my phone going like crazy but I’m just a regular guy.”

Burton’s interview was shared onto YouTube by 69News WFMZ-TV, and many people took to the comments to praise his skills.

“This man will forever be remembered now. That hit was legendary,” one person wrote.

“True officer, interactive with his community not acting above anyone but acting with the people he swore to protect,” another added.

“Lol he just hit the ball so hard that automatically the game has to be now stopped, modern problem requires modern solution,” someone else joked.
