A woman from Fort Lauderdale was lucky construction worker Edwin Zamora was there to help her. She was walking in the 500 block of East Las Olas toward the beach when she was attacked by a man who came up behind her.

Security cameras caught the attack, but it was Zamora who scared off the attacker.

Zamora had arrived earlier that day and was sitting in his truck waiting for his colleagues when he heard screaming. He says he remembered his wife and daughter so he jumped out of his truck, grabbed a metal pipe, and chased him off.

The suspect runs knowing full well Zamora had every intention of using the pipe if needed.

“She was crying and she had bruises on her shoulder and arm,” Zamora said. “She was a little bit in shock after she stopped crying.”

He was at the right place at the right time.

“She said ‘thank you, you saved my life.’ [I said] ‘no, I didn’t save your life. I was in the right place at the right moment,'” Zamora said.

He says he’s not a hero. Just a regular guy.

The suspect is a tall black man, shirtless in the footage, and has short hair. Investigators are asking the public for help in identifying the woman’s attacker. Safe to say he’s not going anywhere near that construction site.

Apparently, it was an alleged kidnapping on a side street off Las Olas.

Zamora had every intention of taking on the attacker it would seem as the tall suspect ran off and sped away on a bicycle.

The victim has since been back at the site thanking Zamora for his help that morning. The man is being hailed as a “Good Samaritan” but his actions depict him more as an “Avenging Angel” of sorts.

Zamora is truly a good, humble man.

Who knows what would have happened to the woman had he not arrived early. She was really shaken up but Zamora had plans of roughing up her attacker in return.

That tall crook learned that you don’t mess with construction workers.

Those security cameras sure came in handy. Who knows what else would have happened without them. Let’s hope authorities catch the attacker soon. Zamora and the woman got a good look at him.

A woman left this comment,

“Thank you sir, it’s men like you that makes us feel a little safer. Now a days so many people/men would rather record than step in to help. Some guys don’t realize how scary this world is to be a woman or child. We need more people like this guy out there.”

It’s a crazy world out there. Real men need to step up and take charge of their communities once more. Men like Zamora deserve more recognition.
