Have you ever seen something that seems to coincide perfectly with anything? Or a scene in everyday life that seems to be synchronized? Photographer Denis Cherim from London seems to have a knack for encountering these things all too often!
He calls it The Coincidence Project, and it emphasizes the harmony that can be found in everyday life. Cherim introduces a new perspective wherein all things in his frame are carefully aligned and in harmony. These 50 photos are some of the incredible views he captured that highlight the balance found on this planet.

1. Half paint, half reality
No, this house is not a painting that became real halfway. The lines on this patch of paint aligns perfectly with the house’s walls that it almost looks like one whole thing!
https://www.instagram.com/p/B1BilKOgIoa/
It’s definitely a coincidence that this cloud of smoke appeared in line with the patch in this home’s concrete wall. And Cherim was at the right angle at the right moment.

Your eyes are not deceiving you at all. That’s not a floating ring, but a floater that’s very far from this tube.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B99I0SEolkR/
Cherim chanced upon this lamp post and realized that it looks like the post is capturing the moon. Cool! All he needed was the perfect angle to take the shot from.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CMXy76hL08o/
You are not seeing double! This is actually an upside-down photo, and that one on the top shows the shadow of the basketball ring.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B_ZsILnAt3f/
This was taken from Spain, wherein this statue’s fingertips look like they are emitting smoke. As it turns out, it’s probably just a jetplane from a higher altitude passing by.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CC8Xif_paRN/
The shadow from a tall building completely aligned with the edge of the woman’s clothes and the sides of the other buildings up ahead. it seems like we are looking at two pictures merged together: one is for the night and the other is for the day.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CN5FjeErTHN/
The white line on this tree trunk seems to be aligned with the horizon. It is understated but the harmony in this photo is simply stunning.
The square glass panes on the building reflect beautifully on this car. The effect is quite high-tech, like watching a Sci-Fi movie unfold.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CGoyfsMgqgK/
Are these plants burning in a very synchronized manner? Nope, just the sunset falling perfectly on each tree.
https://www.instagram.com/p/CJgVD01LP4W/
It may look like this huge tree is splitting the calm lake, but that is not the case. It is a perfectly angled picture that captured the sunset, the tree, and the calmness of the lake.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BtxfZ-Rle4H/
12. Bouncing off the lamps?
What are the smokey things bouncing off these lamp posts? Apparently, they are not hitting the lamp posts or anything. Those are smokes from planes that happened to fly by from opposite directions.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BqKT4ldFlJl/
13. A neat line on the floor
So, did the builders really plan this from the start? What a neat coincidence!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BsF2_sbFut9/
Aaw! Can you see the unmistakable heart-shaped branch? Isn’t it cute?
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bp1tM1tF1sW/
Is this lamp emitting smoke? Nope, just a lamp that’s perfectly aligned with this cloud.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BprHzY4lNhH/
How could this happen? Half of the Ferris wheel seems to match the circular puddle on the pavement!
https://www.instagram.com/p/Bc2J5xolopZ/
If you look very carefully, you’ll realize you’re not seeing an upright picture. It actually is an upside-down photo of a bridge over clear water.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BgTFtA9AI3f/
Does this building really have a cloud stopper? Apparently, it’s just a triangular sign that’s harmoniously lined with the thick clouds!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BY5Ic16FL_F/
Wow, this photo is so full of harmony. It’s so on point and perfectly aligned that it actually gives me the calm I need after a very long day!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BZIyaG7lnSS/
Arent’t these rocks perfect? They are well-aligned, and even their colors make me feel like I am looking at a gradient gray color scheme that goes from lighter shades to darker ones.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BcPUjURlnjw/
The building is in the exact distance and from this point of view, it seems like it can all fit inside this window frame. It’s actually quite cute!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BYc0dDXlzSs/
Now, this is what harmony and coincidence are all about. It so happened that there is another tree within the fence that almost looks the same as the other one beyond the fence. And it is planted on the right spot that when it casts its shadow, it matches the top of the other tree perfectly!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BW2BjkVlK63/
So, is someone inside this tree trunk? Nope, just a man that stands from a distance and fits just right in this tree trunk.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BU-TlfrlCO3/
For one, this electrical pole is too high for this tree to reach. But, with the right angle and correct perspective, this photo made it appear like the tree actually reaches the wires!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BWnlAxXlRmE/
If you don’t see the apple yet, then look again. Once you see it, you’ll never be able to un-see it!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BRX7IVCDe5z/
Did nature really make this clear cut on the grass and sky? Well, not exactly. It’s just a wire that’s impeccably aligned with the horizon.
27. A message for everyone
It might just be a badly placed ad, but it was an opportunity for Cherim to send a message to everyone. You may try to hide your feelings, but your eyes will always speak the truth.
Would it be too unbelievable if a city was contained in a glass box like this? Well, I almost believed it, until I looked closer.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BLf5WFPBds5/
Could they have planned to do this all along? Or was it just a huge coincidence that these things perfectly match?
The way this steel fence matches with the tall building on the other side of the river is already quite amazing. But for the edge of the fence to perfectly match the ad on the side of the building? That definitely incredible!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BLrOl1tjqOw/
The way nature colors the sky is simply marvelous. And with this beautifully patterned fence, I almost feel like I am looking at symmetrical works of art!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BKPQX67BzK6/
The way this treetop matches the opening in this fence is definitely satisfying to look at. It’s nothing short of impeccable. It almost seems like the treetop is actually pushing the fence up.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BKqm3SGhX33/
The view across this huge and colorful Ferris wheel is quite stunning. Who knew it could fit between these trees from this distance? This only made the view even more magical.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BLJqvT-D0uI/
34. Landing on the lamp post
So did the tiny plane that emitted that smoke tail really land inside the lamp post? Nope, that’s just a perfectly timed picture!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BLRdDLkD1dh/
There is no way this metallic sign board would reflect something behind it right? What a beautiful coincidence that the reflection in this sign matches the horizon behind it.
https://www.instagram.com/p/o_HEJOK3Jk/
The lines are too straight on this home that it almost looks like it’s unreal! Even the color reminds me of paper artwork, it an actual house in front of the deep blue sea.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BHhG-phDhz6/
It’s fun to see that things completely unrelated can match, at some point. The road lines are painted straight, and this wire right in the middle of those white lines.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BIA7Ku-DGKB/
From this point of view, it seems like the curved lines of this banister are matched with the shape of the car’s wheels. It’s a matter of perspective, after all.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BLOXRipDceN/
39. Hiding in the branches
This photo of the sunset is surely creative. From this angle, the sun looks like it’s hiding behind the branches of the tree.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BIRoHkqjJnB/
The sun is up in the sky and is captured as it reaches this bridge’s corner. The sun’s angle makes the posts look straight, even the shadows.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BHwqIkkjUUy/
Here’s another case of unintentional harmony. There is no way they planned all that lines to match when they painted those posts!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BK-a2dOjhMP/
That’s just one bicycle. But with the right lighting and perspective, the lone bicycle becomes three!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BK9dey4DrRP/
43. Another bicycle trick
So is this a bicycle with uneven wheels? Nope, those are two bicycles parked next to each other and one is closer to the camera.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BKvV1eCj8vh/
Nope, not a tree with a colorful trunk and roots. That’s a peacock that fits just right in the shape of the tree.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BKoEzX7B0bm/
The edge of this green fence and the side of the plant from up ahead are aligned perfectly that it looks like they are next to each other. Cool!
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJwzsKkhzFU/
Looking at the shadow, it seems like a woman is standing on those heels. But if you step back a little, you’ll find out it’s just the shadow of a towel.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BKLV2yKBWyH/
Are these framed pictures of two trees? Nope, these are actual trees, planted near these perfectly lined posts.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJktUyhh0fr/
Would you live in a home that’s inside a cage? No one wants that! It’s good that this is not real, but just a coincidence, since the cage is placed outside this home.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJp9gJ8BFiW/
This walkway is not from stories up. It is actually a sidewalk next to a lake with dark water because of the night sky.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJSk2fND26w/
This is the shadow of a man, alright. but that’s not a rifle at all! Just the handlebar at this outside staircase.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BJIOT97jeQe/
