The now football coach started as a backup dancer for MC Hammer in 1989, before returning to finish his degree.

Back in 1989 Zo met MC Hammer and was hired on the spot as a backup dancer. He was featured in the music video “Lets Get It Started” and toured the whole summer with MC Hammer’s entourage.

Once the summer was over, he went back to school where he played football. While at school, he couldn’t get rid of the itch to dance. Ultimately, he left school and became a permanent dancer for MC Hammer. He traveled with the entourage, dancing in huge events like the MTV Music Awards, the American Movie Awards, and even dancing on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Once head coach, Brent Brennan, discovered Zo’s awesome past, he just had to see it for himself.

Zo thought the dancing was in the past, until head coach, Brent Brennan, found out about his secret. Brent just had to see if Zo still had the stellar dance moves. So during a practice in 2017, a familiar song came over the PA system.

That song was “U Can’t Touch This” by MC Hammer and Zo had a feeling it was meant for him.

“Next thing you know, it’s “U Can’t Touch This.” I was like awe man, he put me on front street.” Said Zo.
