It all started a few years back with a 3-year-old little girl singing โPart Of Your Worldโ from Disneyโs The Little Mermaid soundtrack.
She blew everyone away with her angelic and pitch-perfect singing voice and little princess looks. For the past three years, Claire Crosby and her dad, Dave, have been performing together and posting the videos on their YouTube channel.
Sheโs been on The Ellen Show twice.
Sheโs performed other Disney songs on their YouTube channel. Sheโs been cast in the remake of The Little Mermaid starring Shirley MacLaine and Poppy Drayton. She even appeared and sang on NBCโs Little Big Shots when she was four years old.
And now The Crosby family is back with their latest video!
The new Lion King movie just came out in cinemas so itโs only fitting that the Crosby family comes out with their own Lion King video at the same time.
And not only did they produce a Lion King video but they sang every song from The Lion King movie in this one!
The video starts off with Dave and the opening chant in The Circle of Life. And then Claire appears dressed in an adorable yellow pantsuit with a tribal-inspired design on the neckline and neckpiece. Ashley, Claireโs mom, also makes an appearance in the video. She plays all the songs sung on the piano. And, of course, Carson and June, her brother and sister, make an appearance, too!
Theyโve only posted the video less than a week ago and itโs already achieved over 800k views to date.
If you donโt know her yet, Claire Ryann Crosby started singing when she was only a year and a half old.
โShe was slamming her hands on our little keyboard in the living room,โ Dave recalled in an interview with Parents magazine. โShe started hitting the same note over and over, and then she began to sing the exact same note. I was sure at that moment that she was going to be able to sing.โ
And then, when she was 22 months old, Dave asked Claire if she could sing a bedtime lullaby. And Claire sang it with perfect pitch.
Then they introduced her to Disney songs and Claire was obsessed! She loved Frozen, of course. But Dave and Ashley wanted her to know the classics, too. So they introduced her to The Little Mermaid and its signature song, โPart Of Your Worldโ. She fell in love with the song!
โShe would request it whenever we drove around in the car,โ Dave shared. โPretty soon, she was singing the entire song word for word everywhere.โ
The idea to create a video didnโt come to Daveโs mind until they were at the shop getting an oil change.
While he was paying, Claire began to sing Part Of Your World around the waiting area. The people waiting laughed and smiled and recorded the performance on their phones.
โThat gave me the idea to put a video on YouTube. A few months later, during Christmas break, we finally made our first video to the song from Little Mermaid,โ Dave told Parents magazine.
They posted the video on January 2016 on YouTube and became a viral hit with 18 million views, as of July 2019.
โIt really was just for family and friends,โ Claireโs mother, Ashley Crosby, told Deseret News. โWeโฆ never ever thought โ it wasnโt our plan to do a channel with her ever, but it was something that just grew.โ
