Claire Ryann Crosby isn’t just your typical six-year-old with a cherub face. For the past several years she’s been creating Disney-inspired music videos with her family, which have catapulted her into internet stardom.
Her rendition of “Tale As Old As Time” is one that’s managed to steal a lot of hearts.
It all began when Claire was just a baby.
She was only a year and a half when her parents, Dave and Ashley, began noticing their daughter’s singing talent.
According to the family’s Facebook page, baby Claire started repeating the lullaby her dad would sing at night. What stunned Dave the most was that she knew all the words and would even hit the pitches correctly.
Then Disney came into the picture.
Like many other kids her age, Claire became a huge fan of everything Disney – especially loving the music. She was really into Frozen at first, eventually becoming hooked on The Little Mermaid classic, “Part of Your World.”
Claire was three-years-old when she got her first magical moment.
Dave took Claire one day to get his car oil changed. But while his back was turned, Claire decided to give the other customers in the waiting room a show.
In an interview with Parents, he explained how she suddenly broke into her favorite Little Mermaid song right then and there – and did so in a dramatic way. Unsurprisingly, all the customers loved it.
“It made everyone in the waiting room laugh and people were pulling out their cell phones and recording it. That gave me the idea to put a video on YouTube.”
The Crosbys decided it was time to let their daughter shine.
Claire’s first YouTube video is of her singing “Part of Your World.” Her dad Dave is a musician too, so he was able to help create a more professional experience in the family’s “make-shift” recording studio.
The result was incredible. Her video has been viewed more than 100 million times.
If you’ve ever watched one of Claire’s performances, then you know what it’s like to have your heart melted. She has an adorable voice that matches her angelic face. By now she’s covered many Disney classics, including “A Whole New World” and “See the Light.”
Claire has been known to perform duets with her dad, but sometimes the entire family gets involved. At the age of four, Claire and the rest of the Crosbys created a breathtaking video set to the song, “Tale As Old As Time,” which comes from Beauty and the Beast.
The video was filmed in the ballrooms of the Davenport Hotel in Spokane, Washington. It features pint-sized Claire singing the tune dressed as Mrs. Potts, her parents as Beauty and the Beast, and even her younger brother as Chip.
Claire doesn’t disappoint in the video, showcasing her soft voice before transforming into more of a powerhouse as well. Her parents also get in on the musical action. Her dad Dave strums the guitar, while her mom Ashley plays the piano.
There’s a reason it’s been watched more than 12 million times on YouTube so far – it’s just that magical.
Claire and her family have a bright future ahead, and to think it all started when she was only knee-high! It’ll be exciting to see what she does next.
