Since she was three-years-old, Claire Ryann Crosby has been spreading joy into people’s hearts through music. Despite being so young, she’s considered an internet star (but is still on the rise).
Claire and her family have released a new video, “Consider the Lilies,” that fans are falling in love with. It’s a beautiful rendition that’s warming souls.
She was born to sing.
Claire, who’s now six, began singing when she was just a baby. Her father, Dave, was amazed when she started repeating the lullaby he would sing at bedtime.
Not only was his one-year-old showing her voice and had memorized all the words – she was hitting all the notes too.
Disney became an inspiration.
Claire developed a passion for everything Disney, but especially loved the music that was in the movies and shows. One of her favorites was “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid.
Dave decided to record Claire singing the song – which is what launched them into the world of internet stardom.
She’s back with another spine-tingling tune.
Over the last several years, Claire has covered many Disney classics, as well as other songs. Her latest rendition of “Consider the Lilies” actually has a deep and powerful message behind it.
The videos Claire and her family make are always beautifully done. With a cherub face and an incredible voice that comes deep from within – it’s no wonder she takes people’s breath away.
For “Consider the Lilies,” Claire is in a flower-filled yard wearing a Sunday dress. She belts out the lyrics to the song.
“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow, how they grow…”
It then cuts to a clip of Jesus, who’s speaking to a group of followers on a hill. He picks a flower while explaining His message.
It’s leaving a lump in people’s throats.
Claire continues,
“He clothes the lilies of the field. He feeds the birds in the sky. And He will feed those who trust Him – and guide them with His eye.”
The song was created after the bible verse, Matthew 6:28, which is about trusting that God will always care for your needs, as He cares for all of nature. It was written by Roger Hoffman, who teaches the Lord’s word through music.
Roger explained on the Sounds of Sunday site how “Consider the Lilies” came to him one day while sitting at the piano. He described how emotional he became as he reached the third verse that speaks of pain and suffering.
“Consider the sweet, tender children, who must suffer on this earth…”
At first, Roger wasn’t sure if he could take on such a big topic. However, he pushed himself to continue, writing:
“The pains of all of them He carried, from the day of His birth. He clothes the lilies of the field, He feeds the lambs in His fold, and He will heal those who trust him, and make their hearts as gold.”
It’s a moving song that’s taken to a new level with Claire’s voice behind the lyrics. The scenes of Jesus in the video certainly add to the chilling effect.
Since Claire’s family posted the video on their YouTube channel, it’s been well-received by fans. Many have admitted how emotional they’ve become watching it, and have even been brought to tears.
Claire’s only begun her path of creating happiness through song. And like a little angel, we’ll all be there to watch her spread her wings.
