As a strong, independent woman (yes, I went there), I feel that I must put something to rest, and that is the notion that just because women want to be treated equal doesn’t mean that men shouldn’t still demonstrate some chivalry now and then. Do I want equal pay and the right to vote? Absolutely! Does that mean my husband shouldn’t bring me flowers and rub my feet while I sip on some wine every once and a while? Heck no! While there are those people out there who cannot wrap their heads around the notion that men can treat women without treating them like lesser individuals, there are also a good deal of men who GET IT. And boy, are those men setting the bar high for all others.

1. This man proves that you don’t have to have money to have love and happiness. He couldn’t afford lilies to buy for his GF as a welcome home gift, so he MADE them.

2. This man’s wife asked him to rake the leaves. He did her one better.

3. See this room? It is covered in 7,000 sticky notes. And each one contains a memory he has with her. Good luck trying to top that one.

4. When this man says he’s going to build something for his wife, he actually does it. Wife went away for 48 hours and came back to this.

5. This man wanted to make sure that his girlfriend had something to smile about for the next 365 days. So what did he do? He wrote 365 notes and put them in a jar for her to select at random.

6. If you’re a Harry Potter fan, be ready to swoon. This guy made custom leather covers for each book in the series for his girlfriend.

7. One year, this couple was too broke to afford Christmas presents let alone a tree. The wife cried. The husband got creative. He borrowed some lights and made this in their apartment. Now, every year, they make this same tree to remind them of where they once were.

8. Take note guys: home renovation projects get us every time. This man built his girlfriend a pantry when she was away on a long weekend. *heart flutter*

21. One woman wanted a cat, so what did her husband do? He got her two! He couldn’t split the pair up but figured his wife wouldn’t mind (I’m sure she didn’t!).

22. This guy made his boyfriend a custom handmade Settlers of Catan set + extension for his 30th birthday. He spent over 2 months making it. Now THAT is dedication!
