Itโs always fun to look back through old photo albums and see how much weโve changed over time.
More often than not, we find that we actually still resemble the little kid in those picturesโor else, something else about the photo reminds us of our current lives. Of course, the next logical step is to actually recreate those photos in the present day. With that being said, here are a bunch of adorable, restaged childhood photos.
1. Girl Laying Out (1990 and 2010)
Thereโs something indelible about our senses of self that seems to stick with us throughout childhood into adulthood. Itโs something about us thatโs hidden in our body language. As you can see from these photos, it seemingly never goes away.
2. Boy Laying on Momโs Lap
Although itโs always nice to have our mom comfort us in hard times, these two photos show that some things really do change as we get older. Still, itโs good to see these two committed for the photograph.
3. Girl in Laundry Basket (1982 and 2011)
Aside from climbing into a tiny laundry basket as a full-grown adult, the most impressive thing about this photo is that the later picture is taken in front of remarkably similar wallpaper as the first. Thatโs real dedication, people.
4. Two Brothers and Cousins in the Bath
These four guys definitely got the pose down and both pictures look remarkably similar (except for the added hairiness, of course). Whatโs also worth mentioning is the bonds between these four must be as strong as ever if they were willing to climb into a bathtub with one another.
5. Little Girl Flipping Off Camera
Remember what we said about attitude? As these photos prove, some things really donโt change. At least in the second photo, sheโs legally allowed to drink Jack Daniels (we hope)!
6. Sleeping Dad and Baby
Although babies feel comforted and sleepy by being held by their parents, anyone who has swaddled a baby knows that thereโs something comforting about holding a baby as well. Thatโs clear from the Dad in this picture though they just might be faking it in the second one.
7. Two Brothers in Yellow Buckets
As it turns out, this photo was actually a surprise restaging which these brothers made for their momโs birthday. The sentiment is definitely very sweet. For our money, these two definitely nailed itโprops to them for climbing in those tiny buckets as well.
8. Girl Who Loves Spaghetti
Our tastes are formed early in childhood as this picture clearly shows. Itโs sometimes funny to remind ourselves where we come from by tapping into all the things we used to like so much. Still, judging by this womanโs commitment in the second photo, weโre guessing she still likes spaghetti quite a bit.
9. Surprised Son and Father
The saying goes that a picture is worth 1000 words. The first one certainly shows a bonding moment between a father and son, with the fun and surprise written across both their faces. Though the second one was acted out, these two are clearly still bonding even to this day.
10. Brother on Older Brotherโs Lap
Though the background and the outfits have changed, these photos show that these brothers are just as close as they were when they were little kids. Still, worth noting is that the younger brother seems to have outgrown the older one by a decent margin.
11. Three Brothers in Texas (1984 and 2013)
This one is a real treat for a few reasons. For one, these three went all-out in getting similar outfits to the ones they were wearing so many years ago. For another, the heights of these three are perfectly mirrored now that they are all grown up. Time does change some things, after all.
12. Three Siblings in the Backseat
Though the family has clearly upgraded to a new car, these three seem as warm and cuddly as ever crammed into the backseat. For anyone who spent a lot of time traveling around as a kid, this one is sure to tug at the heartstrings.
13. Best friends then and now
Dog really is manโs best friend. These photos were taken 10 years apart, and show us how our dogs really do grow up with us!
