Chicken steals the show singing Disney classics when woman starts to play
I don't know if I liked the chicken singing or the woman's piano skills more, but this was so entertaining!

Weโ€™ve seen howling huskies, cackling cats, chirping chicadees and yetโ€ฆ weโ€™ve never seen a singing chicken! โ€œHenโ€ is about to change that for you. Hen is Alice Bishopโ€™s pet chicken,

and she has a healthy set of pipes.

Hen sings along with Aliceโ€™s piano playing in her own weird chicken way!

Hen will usually find her way around the piano, doing her own odd chicken dance as she goes! Alice of course loves it. Oddly enough,

Hen only sings when Alice is playing piano!

She sings for a good variety of music but Disney music is her favourite!

Henโ€™s YouTube channel has videos of her signing Let It Go and A Whole New World, from Frozen and Aladdin, respectively.

Even if her voice isnโ€™t really your thing, Henโ€™s singing is undeniably hilarious!

Itโ€™s just so veryโ€ฆ Hen somehow! And the faces she makes only add on to the comedic aspect!

In her YouTube โ€œaboutโ€ page, Alice describes Henโ€™s journey from outcast to star!

โ€œBored during the Covid-19 quarantine, we discovered Hen can sing! Hen is four years old. A few years ago she broke her leg. We never found out how. We found her in the coop huddled in a corner.

โ€œShe had been pecked to bleeding by the other chickens.

โ€œWe brought her into the house. It was touch and go for a few days, but she was strong and determined. She lived in the house with us for 3 weeks while we nursed her back to health. Having had chickens for awhile, we knew she would probably be rejected by the flock.

โ€œWe got a new batch of chicks and she became their mama.

โ€œHen lived with them until it was time to introduce them to the coop. We introduced all of them, including Hen, one night. It went great!

โ€œIf anyone tried to pick on her, the babies were right there to protect her.

โ€œWithin a few days, she was part of the flock. She still walked and ran with a limp, but kept up great. She has always been extra special to us.โ€

Weโ€™re happy that Hen has found her voice and her true life calling! Itโ€™s so funny and such a unique twist on animal singing!

As it turns out chickens really do understand music!

Theyโ€™re often looked down on as not so intelligent farm animals, but according to yourchickens.co.uk:

โ€œThere is, however, plenty of evidence that chickens do respond to music.

โ€œStudies on day-old chicks have found that they prefer music to random noise.โ€

โ€œA study was conducted by Bristol university in which they played pop, rock, classical or silence in nestboxes and monitored the laying chickensโ€™ preferences. They found that the chickens were much more likely to lay in the โ€˜musical boxesโ€™, and that they had a slight preference for the classical music.โ€

So not only do chickens like music, but they like the classiest kind of music!

This might explain why Hen only likes singing along with certain songs!

Disney songs often have extremely classical elements to them and are what we consider traditionally pleasing music!

This is of course different than a lot of modern music that takes risks with its sounds and creates sour or disharmonic notes for effect!
