How many of us have had to deal with a heartbreak?
It sucks and it is never easy. It could be a normal break-up agreed upon by both partners, or worse, infidelity. No one deserves to be lied to or cheated on but unfortunately, it does happen. And it happens quite a lot.

All people handle their break-ups in different ways whether it be secluding from others, hitting the gym, finding new hobbies and so on.
Then there are those who resort to food and eating. They will eat to the point that they could become unhealthy.

Rachel Paul was one such person. Upon discovering that her then boyfriend was cheating on her, she turned to food to drown her sorrows. She realized she had a problem when she went over 300 pounds and as a result, applied to be on the ABC show “Extreme Weight Loss”.
She shared,
“It was the first time I’d seen a scale. I was over 300 pounds and I realized I really had a problem. “

The former UCLA Bruin was once captain of the dance team and with her cheer dancing knowledge brought Notre Dame high school’s cheerleading team with 4 National Championships.
Rachel acknowledged her struggle and instead of constantly giving in to them, she decided to fight fire with fire. Her goal was to once again fit in to her old cheer dancing uniform and with the help of trainers Chris and Heidi Powell, she was determined to do so.

The thing about fitness is… It is so much fun (in a way) to try be healthier, stronger by attempting to build muscle by lifting weights and taking all the supplements.
But losing weight? That’s actually the real challenge.
It takes unimaginable self-discipline and determination to do so and looking in the mirror everyday could make or break a person’s will.

The 35-year-old from Santa Monica, California was not going to lose this battle.
Even though her confidence and self-esteem were shattered, you can actually see her crying in front of the mirror, Rachel would constantly pick herself up and power on. What a lady!
The then-boyfriend was her first love and it devastated her. Rachel told Inside Edition that she would pull in to drive-thrus after work and then go to another one on the way home and on top of that would call for pizza to be delivered.

Her workouts were anything but easy.
Challenging and pushing herself under her trainers, she slowly chipped away at the 300 pound frame she was carrying. Receiving the news that her ex had died, Rachel allowed herself time to get emotional admitting that she can’t be mad anymore over someone who lost his life.

9 months later and Rachel lost an incredible 145 pounds. And yes, she was able to fit back in to her old uniform again! Rachel still teaches and is a living inspiration to her students and many people around the world. She is one tough lady!
She is a reminder to everyone that no matter the heartbreak and your situation, you are so much stronger and are more than able to rise above your storms.
