There are many times when we see singers perform and know that it’s a job well done. Then there are times when performers go above and beyond.

It’s during these times that performances to remember are created.

The group Celtic Woman had one of these performances when they recorded one of their videos. It happened 11 years ago when they sang “You Raise Me Up” which became popular when Josh Groban recorded it. People are still talking about their performance today. To date, more than 61 people have viewed their video on YouTube.

That’s when you know you’ve done something great. When a performance has longevity and is something to remember, you’ve broken the mold.

It’s not just the singing that is giving people goosebumps. While their harmonies are mind-blowing, the collaboration with the violin player is also astounding.

She hit every note perfectly to create a beautiful song for the entire audience. The women are accompanied by a full orchestra behind them as well as other singers. They are also beautifully dressed in ballgowns that complement each other.

Celtic Woman has become a global phenomenon. They got together in 2005 and have been making music together ever since. Celtic Woman is currently comprised of four young Irish women. Vocalists Mairéad Carlin, Megan Walsh, and returning special guest artist Chloë Agnew sing alongside gifted violinist Tara McNeill.

What’s special about this group of women is that they not only sing Irish music, but also contemporary songs like the video they made for “You Raise Me Up”.

Here are some fun facts about Celtic Woman. They have performed for three U.S. presidents and appeared twice at the White House. One of those performances was in 2009 for the National Christmas Tree Lighting. They also performed on the ABC show “Dancing with the Stars”.

Celtic Woman still remains popular today. 2020 marks the group’s 15th anniversary.

The women have sold more than ten million CDs and DVDs and they’re still going. Celtic Woman does have a tour planned for 2021 with dates in both the United States and Ireland. It’s being called “The Celebration Tour” because clearly, these women have plenty to celebrate.
