Even Celtic Thunder, the Irish singing and stage show group with their dramatic and theatrical styles have one. They go all out when decorating and setting up their stages. Dramatic and striking pieces are used often with ancient Celtic symbols and lighting for a more mysterious effect.

The man on the ukulele is Keith Harkin with Daniel Furlong, the kid on vocals.

The familiar melody comes in at the same time as Daniel walks on stage.

The audience knows the song and they erupt in cheers and applause. Keith strumming his little instrument, minding his own business when Daniel decides to sit next to him while singing. Like a little brother constantly following his big brother.

“You’ve got a friend in me. You’ve got a friend in me. When the road looks rough ahead and you’re miles and miles from your nice warm bed. Just remember what your old pal said ‘Cos, you’ve got a friend in me”

It’s a funny sequence. Daniel sits next to Keith, singing while imitating every posture Keith does. Keith tries to move away, but Daniel finds a way to tail him. He even elbows Daniel from time to time but that won’t deter the singing sensation!

One part has them walking around the stage and as Daniel follows Keith around, he has a little stumble. Now whether tripping was part of the skit or not, it definitely added to the theme of the performance. Made for good TV!

“This is so cute! Do you think he meant to trip on the steps? I love the little laugh that Keith does. “

Even the audience gives a little laugh along with Keith’s.

It’s a cute sequence. Even the band couldn’t help but smile. See, Daniel plays the annoying younger brother or friend pretty well. And Keith’s many facial expressions coupled with his body movements aid in the presentation.

It actually leads to a little dance on the steps. Keith trying to get rid of Daniel but the young guy on his back even doing the same footwork on the steps as he does. Listen to that audience react though. It’s a great show!
