Children often surprise us with their incredible talents. The young mind is like a sponge, eagerly soaking in every bit of information it comes in contact with. It only makes sense that many people discover their extraordinary gifts during their childhood. This girl might be small, but she has an enormous amount of talent.
Giedie Laroco is only 16 years old, but she is one talented individual. The girl is a singer, and she is performing for more than just her talent shows. When she was 13 she made her big debut on The Voice Kids in the Philippines. She wowed the judges with a stunning performance you’ll have to see to believe.
The room was silent as Giedie began to sing “The Power of Love” by Céline Dion. This is not an easy singer to emulate, and the judges were not sure that anyone could properly cover it. They knew their on-stage artist was young, so they were even more doubtful.
But those thoughts melted away as soon as Giedie started singing. She had not even gotten through the first line before one judge, Sarah Geronimo, hit her big red button. She turned around and was astounded to find a young girl standing before her.
Giedie continued to pour out a voice that sounded very mature for a girl her age, and two other judges contemplated turning around. They were still reserved, however. They needed to be even more impressed before they were willing to offer her their support.
They looked at each other and giggled as the girl flowed through the notes, but as she sang “‘Cause I’m your lady,” it all changed.
“Wait, hang on!” exclaimed Lea Salonga. She knew the singer was good, but she wasn’t ready to hit the buzzer just yet.
Giedie continued to wow the audience – and the judges – with beautiful poise and perfect pitch. It was not long before she won over the two hold-outs, who pushed their buttons and turned around at the same time. They were shocked that this incredible voice was coming from a young teenager.
“Quite honestly, I don’t know what to do with you,” Lea announced when the performance was over, “because you have it all already. Because you are perfect!”
With all of the judges in support, Giedie had her pick of the group. She chose to go along with Lea, her strongest supporter.
This talented young girl certainly has a bright future in front of her. She is sure to reach success as long as she follows her dreams.
