Famous people are just that โ famous! They are known all over the world and itโs usually pretty hard for them to live normal lives. Going to the store becomes an opportunity for the paparazzi to pounce, and you canโt really live with much freedom.
Despite constantly being in the public eye, some famous people have managed to disappear. And not just from the public eye, but totally disappear from everything. Sometimes, there are rumors it was done intentionally, but other times it was the result of a tragic accident or crime.
Letโs go through 15 of the most famous people ever to have gone missing.
1. Jesse Camp
Jesse Camp is a musician who won the Wanna Be a VJ contest on MTV. His sister filed a missing person report with the police department after she hadnโt heard from him for about a week back in 2018.

After being located, police revealed that โCamp was not in need of any assistance.โ He just didnโt want to be found!

Thankfully, she was eventually found to be in a hotel room in Ireland.
3. Ozzy Osbourne
We all know who Ozzy Osbourne is, but you might not remember that he went missing for a while back in 2016! His wife kicked him out of their house when she learned that he was sleeping around with his stylist and he went to stay at the Beverly Hills Hotel. But he didnโt tell anyone where he was headed and when his kids tried to find him, he was nowhere to be found.
His family was worried he might turn to drugs and end up in a bad spot. Thankfully, Ozzy Osbourne was and is still with us today.
4. Chelsea OโDonnell
OโDonnell is the child of the comedian Rosie OโDonnell and went missing for a week when she was 17-years-old. People were all over social media looking for any signs of her.
When she was finally found, it was with a drug dealer who she had been riding with of her own volition.
5. Casey Kasem
Kasem suffered from Parkinsonโs disease and couldnโt walk anymore. His daughter, Kerri Kasem, was granted a conservatorship and had been caring for him.
However, the children couldnโt track down their father in 2014 after their stepmother removed him from the state without telling anyone. It turned out he was in Washington state, but he died later that year.
Oddly enough, after his death, his body went missing as well for a while!
6. Nick Stahl
Nick Stahl was reported missing by his wife, Rose Stahl, in 2012. After she didnโt hear from him, she became worried that he had overdosed and was dead.

But Stahl went missing again and was found in an AA meeting days later.
7. Katherine Jackson
Katherine Jackson, the matriarch of the Jackson family, went missing in 2012 and a report was filed by her nephew, Trent Jackson. Her family didnโt know where she was in the Los Angeles area and asked the police to look for her.

8. Andrew Koenig
Koenig (Boner from the sitcom Growing Pains) disappeared in 2010 when he took a trip to British Columbia, Canada. Police soon went searching, but nobody had any idea what had happened.
Soon, friends came forward saying that Koenig had returned personal items of theirs, a telltale sign of suicidal ideation.
Sadly, a few weeks later, Koenigs body was found in Stanley Park, hanged in the forest.
9. Margot Kidder
Margot Kidder was gone for four days in 1996. She was soon found in a strangerโs backyard dirty and unaware of where she was. She didnโt have her two front teeth and she seemed to be in a state of psychosis.
We later learned that she had severe bipolar disorder and refused to take her medicine. She was convinced that people were trying to kill her and was on the run, hoping to โescapeโ them.
10. Sean Flynn
Flynn, a journalist and photographer, went on a mission to Cambodia with his colleague, Dana Stone. They were hoping to report on the revolution underway in the country.

11. Jason Mewes
Mewes โ of Clerks, Mallrats, and Jay and Silent Bob fame โ has a long history with drugs and failed to show up to a court date related to his heroin charges. A warrant for his arrest was issued and he was believed to be living off the grid.
He was eventually found when he came forward in 2003. He was sentenced to mandatory rehab and was given probation.
12. James Allan
Allan disappeared for a few days back in 2009, causing his Glasvegas bandmates to worry. He didnโt show up to the Mercury Awards to perform and nobody knew where he was.

13. Kurt Cobain
The Nirvana singer was missing for a few days after he left rehab in 1994.
As many already know, he was found dead with a suicide letter and a gun on April 8th.
There are lots of conspiracy theories surrounding his death. One of the more famous ones has to do with the amount of heroin in his system, hinting that he wouldnโt have even been conscious to hold a gun, let alone kill himself.
14. Richey Edwards
Richey Edwards was the guitarist for the Manic Street Preachers who went missing in 1995. He was last seen in the Embassy Hotel in London, but little is known after that. He was reported to have then driven to his apartment in Wales where his car was later found.
He never turned up and his body was never found. He is presumed dead, but nobody really knows.
15. J-Kwon
J-Kwon went missing in 2010 when he was 24-years-old. He was gone for a whole month when his record label started searching for him, wondering what had happened. There was even a Twitter account that people were using to add tips about his location.
Apparently, he was just โtaking some time offโ and was off the grid the whole time! Soon after, his album was released.
Marketing scheme? Maybe.
While most of the people on the list turned up eventually, some stories didnโt have such a happy ending.
