We all love our pets. They’re the animals that stick with us during all the big moments of our lives. They comfort us when we’re sad and always ready to celebrate when we’re happy. Basically, animals are the best gift the world could have given us.
Have you ever wondered how long we’ve had pets? Archeological evidence shows that humans have been domesticating dogs for as long as 32,000 years. Cats came much later, around 12,000 years ago.
One of the things that make pets so special is they each have their own dynamic personality. Some people claim animals are all the same but if you have pets, you know that’s not true. Some pets are friendly, some are shy, and some are playful. That diversity is one of the great things about being a pet owner.
The other thing you know if you have pets is they’re weird. Yes, we love them and they’re adorable. But they’re also really weird. They do things we can’t explain, which sometimes drive us crazy. That makes us love them even more. How else could humans and animals been together for 32,000 years?
This cat has a never-ending supply of food, so he should be happy, right? Cats aren’t exactly known for their grateful spirits, however. He’d rather do this contortion act to get to the bigger food supply.
This picture is so funny that you have to look at it twice. The dog’s shocked expression as he pops through the fur is hilarious. And where is that dog’s stomach?
This cat fell into the cushions once by accident, then decided he liked it. Now it’s his favorite napping spot. His owner took the opportunity to snap a photo and laugh at him.
4. He just wants a drink, okay?
This Twitter user was shocked when she went to a bar and found a dog sitting on a barstool. Everyone else was acting like it was completely normal. I guess sometimes a dog just needs a place to relax at the end of a long day.

If you have no idea what this cat is trying to do, you’re not the only one. I think she’s trying to get all the drips of water out of the faucet or she’s working toward becoming a contortionist for the Cirque du Soleil.

I don’t know what this cat’s doing, but he’s giving off some real Emperor Palpatine vibes. It must’ve something to do with the dark cloak and evil cackle combo.

Cats are known for being jerks, but this has gone too far. It’s no wonder the picture evokes a certain Disney movie. At least there isn’t a stampede of wildebeest below.
After going under anesthesia at the vet, this dog looked a little alarming. I can’t imagine that position is comfortable. But I suppose drugs make every position comfortable.

Cats are known for two things: napping and being flexible. This goofball is showing off both those traits. He looks pretty cozy though I can’t imagine how.
This little guy managed to burrow himself so deeply into the couch cushions that he almost disappeared. I assume he can get out on his own. But someone should probably make sure he’s okay.

While cats are incredibly flexible, this dog blows them all out of the water. We don’t know exactly what she’s doing aside from being a total weirdo.

This dog was in the middle of a game of fetch with his owner when he lost track of the ball. But he was determined not to return empty-pawed. So, he came back carrying this huge root system.
This person was trying to use a public restroom when they had a sudden intrusion. On the bright side, if anyone is going to bust into the bathroom stall, this is probably the best-case scenario.
20. Good thing he’s got his shower cap on
Most cats don’t like getting wet, but apparently, this one’s the exception. He even has a little shower cap on so his fur doesn’t get wet, at least not on his head.

This dog is pretty cute, but this sight would be enough to make you jump. I’m not sure which is creepier, the dog or that deer pillow.
22. A Broadway star in the making
Even the greatest stars have to start somewhere. In this cat’s case, that “somewhere” is a lowly potted plant. I wonder if he’ll be starring in “Cats” one day.
Every dog thinks of themselves as a guard dog, no matter their size. Some of them bark at the mailman, some patrol the yard, and some chase squirrels. Then there’s this guy who makes rude faces at unwelcome visitors.
If you’ve ever watched a parkour video, you know those people can literally climb up walls. This dog isn’t quite there yet. But judging by his expression, it’s not for a lack of trying.
It’s bedtime for this dog and that means one thing. She’ll cry without ceasing until her owners stop what they’re doing and tuck her in. She has to have her favorite pillow and blanket, of course.
26. We all wish we could experience love like this
This dog has a new doughnut pillow and she’s in love with it. She won’t let her owner take it off of her. “From now on, the doughnut is part of me, Susan. Do you understand?”

This cat is warming her toes, and while she enjoys it, she’s playing a dangerous game. Just a few more inches and those cute little beans will turn into flambé.

We’re all familiar with the classic doggie smile, but this version is far less cute. Is it just me or does she look a lot like her owner?
When you drop food on the floor, your pets will automatically assume it’s fair game. This cat was just waiting to sneak a paw under the door and steal the Pop-Tart.

If you grew up with a sibling, you know what it’s like. You love each other but at the same time, pound on one another. And of course, neither of you has any respect for the other’s personal space.

This cat had her owner going crazy with worry for an entire week. They found her hiding in this cabinet, calmly watching them tear the house apart.

These rabbits were doing what rabbits are known for. They were so energetic they actually broke the table, fell to the floor, and continued. Thanks for making us all uncomfortable, bunnies.
