There’s one house in the neighborhood that this mailman knows all too well. It’s because it’s home to a mischievous cat. Every time he approaches the door to drop off the mail, the cat moves in for his antics.
We’ve all heard of mailmen being afraid of dogs before, but a cat trying to stop the delivery of letters to a residence is completely new territory.
It surprised the US Postal Service employee enough that he started videotaping his attempts, and the end result is absolutely hilarious. It’s an epic battle of mailman versus cat that will have you dying of laughter.
“Kitty cat ready to do battle,” the mailman says as he gets out of his mail truck.
From the outside, the gray home looks just like any other residence.
With a few bushes in front, a set of stairs leading up to the door, and several large windows facing the street, there is nothing that stands out about it as unusual.
However, as the mailman approaches the door, we get the first glimpse of the ornery cat that lies within.
Staring out the window is a very protective black and white cat.
“Kitty cat, how are you? There you are. You coming down here?” he asks the cat.
As soon as the mailman reaches for the mail slot the cat dives down off of the windowsill and aggressively launches its paws through it.
We can hear the metal slot clanking loudly off of the wooden door as the cat knocks all of the letters right out of the mailman’s hands.
“Whoops! He’s ready to go. How am I going to get this in here,” the mailman says.
It’s obviously not going to be easy.
However, he decides to try a second time. Once again he tries to shove the letters into the slot and the cat’s paws immediately come darting out.
Not only does it cause the mailman to drop an entire handful of magazines, but this time, the cat grabs the man’s glove with its claws and refuses to let go. It cracks the mailman up.
“Give me my glove back! You’re nuts,” he says to the cat. “How am I going to get the mail in there with you fighting it?”
It’s a good question, but he decides to make one more attempt anyway.
Finally, the cat gives in.
It decides to accept part of the mail, but it isn’t happy about it. It grabs the magazines, rips them right out of the mailman’s hands, and drags them in through the slot. However, the man still has to deliver the letters. The cat bats them down to the ground at first, although, ultimately, the mailman is able to shove them in.
“Why he’s getting tougher,” the mailman says.
Every day like clockwork, the cat waits by the window anticipating the mailman’s arrival. As soon as the mail truck pulls up, both of them prepare themselves for battle. While this time the mailman won, you never know what could happen when approaching this ordinary-looking gray house. It’s home to a determined cat the refuses to go down without a fight.
