The slogan for the popular game Cards Against Humanity is “a party game for horrible people.” Depending on who you voted for — they’re either the most horrible people ever, or the most awesome.
The creators of Cards Against Humanity have always been known for having crazy and out-of-the-box marketing campaigns. But it’s their latest holiday marketing ploy that has completely taken the internet by storm.
The latest campaign is called “Cards Against Humanity Saves America, ” and its purpose is to do one thing and one thing only — really, really irk President Donald Trump. How are they going to do this exactly? In a very creative, sneaky, and hilarious way.
The card game company recently bought a piece of land that sits on the U.S.-Mexico border and their point? To make sure it remains wall-free.
“Donald Trump is a preposterous golem who is afraid of Mexicans,” the company writes on their campaign website. “He is so afraid that he wants to build a twenty-billion-dollar wall that everyone knows will accomplish nothing. So we’ve purchased a plot of vacant land on the border and retained a law firm specializing in eminent domain to make it as time-consuming and expensive as possible for the wall to get built.”
When the campaign was first launched, Cards Against Humanity asked people to pitch in $15 to help accomplish their president-irritating plan. In return, those that donated money will receive six surprises throughout the month of December.
Not only will financial donors receive six surprises in the mail, but they’ll also be given a piece of the land, which means if the U.S. government wanted to construct a border wall — they’d need to take every individual to court.
“It will be fun, it will be weird, and if you voted for Trump, you might want to sit this one out.”
Cards Against Humanity has released a “Frequently Asked Questions” section to help answer any questions that people may have about their zany plan. Although, you might not exactly be getting the answers you were hoping for.
And, of course, with a campaign this controversial, the internet was sure to weigh in with their thoughts and opinions.
