There’s something about many Pop songs that always puts fans in a bright mood. Between the bouncy melodies, the positive lyrics, and the sense of fun, it’s hard to resist the urge to smile and dance. This catchy quality may have directly caused the musical moment between the two brothers in this video.
A loving pair
The video opens inside of a kitchen. The camera adjusts and shows us that it’s bright clear day as sunlight comes pouring in through the kitchen. Michael Bublé’s “Haven’t Met You Yet” provides background music from an off-camera radio.
The camera then focuses on a young boy and his baby brother. The young man carries him in loving arms as he enjoys the music. You can see his smile even from this distance, as Michael Bublé sings his famous lyrics.
With a swing and a bounce
The older brother moves to the nearby table and sets his baby brother on its edge. The camera follows so we can get a better look at the brothers bonding and enjoying each other’s company.The baby looks around taking in what’s happening, while the older brother sways and bounces.
The baby settles his attention on the camera as the older brother picks him up and makes a silly laughing sound for entertainment’s sake. The baby then smiles bright and wide as his older brother gives him a slight wiggling shake.
Getting into it
The older brother’s wiggle dance pauses in time for Michael Bublé’s chorus to start. His brother wiggles and sways to the song, making the older brother laugh with surprise. He turns to the camera and says:
“He did that himself”
When the woman behind the camera asks “What”, the older brother explains. “When he shook a minute ago, he did it by himself.” The older brother is more than amused by how Michael Bublé’s catchy lyrics moved even his baby sibling to dance.
He leans in and repeats “All by himself. All by himself.” and kisses his brother’s forehead. As if on cue, the song’s final notes play. It’s almost as if Michael Bublé’s music faded away having done its job in causing and witnessing this cute little bonding moment.
The warmest closing
The last extended note holds as the two brothers look at one another. The older brother gently wiggles and shakes his brother. If you look real close, you can see the peace in his eyes and notice how it matches the calm of this part of the video.
The baby brother is pulled off the table and brought in for a warm loving embrace. The older brother reaches just off camera, as if he was choosing a song for an encore. But we don’t get to see the encore as the video cuts off right there.
Music brings the world together
The video is fun to watch for a lot of reasons. Men and women with much younger siblings will remember the simple joys of caring for their family. Parents will likely think back to any positive interactions they’ve seen between their children.
The video is also a warm reminder of music’s power to bring us together.
