It’s common knowledge that big brothers can’t resist messing with their younger siblings (at least most of them can’t). That’s why when one boy noticed his sister getting down to some Taylor Swift, he saw it as a golden opportunity to have some fun.
Fortunately, the scene was captured on camera and the footage is hysterical. Let’s just say there’s a good reason it’s been watched over 16 million times!
Girls eventually reach an age where they’re ready to ditch their dolls and take on more “older kid” pastimes. For the six-year-old in the video below, she liked dancing in her bedroom to the popular hit, “I Knew You Were Trouble.”
Like any true Taylor Swift fan (who call themselves “Swifties”), the girl knows every lyric to the song and even has some moves to go along with it. So naturally, she decided to make her own music video where she’d be the star of the show.
The only problem? Her 11-year-old brother peeked his head in and saw what she was up to…
If you grew up with an older sibling you know they can tease you about anything. Giving them any kind of ammo (like say, being caught dancing in your bedroom) is like leaving a kid in a candy store. How do they resist?
Luckily, the boy doesn’t exactly start making fun of his sister, who’s really letting loose all while dressed in her Minions shirt. Instead, he decides to steal the spotlight without her knowing.
Ironically as the lyrics go, “‘Cause I knew you were trouble when you walked in.” That’s right Taylor, yes he was!
Hilariously the kid walks up behind his sister at first and rests his hand in a thinking position. Hmmm…what should I do?
Of course in that situation, you gotta start with some bunny ears. He then follows it up with some octopus arms and a “Look, I’m a marshmallow man” move.
The poor girl doesn’t appear to have any clue what’s taking place right behind her head. She mouths the lyrics and throws herself into the moves. Just the thought of being caught in that position is enough to give anyone the sweats (I personally never would have heard the end of it).
You’d have to be living under a rock to not know any Taylor Swift songs. Her music is blasted on the radio, in stores, and on shows and commercials.
The girl’s brother also knows the words to “I Knew You Were Trouble” – so puts on his own lipsyncing performance in the background.
Like many 11-year-olds, the kid reaches a point where he gets slightly distracted. He starts checking out his sister’s dollhouse that’s sitting beside them. After he discovers a green ball of sorts in her jewelry box, he’s back and ready to go!
Together, the siblings dance to the lyrics, “Trouble, trouble, trouble,” all while the girl’s unaware it’s a duet.
But then, the boy makes one major mistake that he can’t take back. He accidentally lets his voice slip out – whoops.
The little girl screams and starts chasing her brother out the door (how embarrassing). Hopefully, for all her future music videos, she learns to close and lock that bedroom door too.
It’s a viral video that’ll beam you back to the days of growing up with siblings. Or if you’re an only child, maybe it’ll make you appreciate the fact.
