Imagine going to your kid’s standard dance recital and being drawn to another kid, who is stealing the show.
That is exactly what happened at the Dance Factory Preschool show, where a little girl wanted to show off, to a crowd of parents her unique interpretation of tap dancing.
Just like all of the greatest performers who are known for their jaw-dropping moves and inspiring stamina, they don’t get to be considered great unless they come with that star quality.
They are memorable because they choose to be incredibly unique and that uniqueness illuminates. Think of performers like Beyonce, David Bowie and Prince—the greatest of the greats!
Obviously, all three have very different mannerisms and musical styles in their performances. Even so, all three of them stand out from the pack because they do their own thing, seemingly unapologetically, and just seem to shine amongst the rest.
That type of star quality is exactly what this little girl was embodying as she tapped her way around the stage!
During the recital, her energetic moves and animated gestures caught one parent’s attention in the audience.
Randall Burns caught this stunning performance on videotape and uploaded it onto the internet. It has since gone viral, with over 15 million views on YouTube! It is hard to say whether Burns’ intention was to capture this little girl’s whole performance or whether he was actually concentrating on one of his own little girls.
Still, from all the attention the video got, the internet is really glad he centered on this particular little girl’s performance!
In the video, the little girls of Original Dance Factory were supposed to be following along with their dance teacher as she was showing them how and when to tap.
Most of the toddlers were trying their very best to stay in place with the others, but this little girl decided to stand out.
She took it upon herself to finesse the moves a bit, making this a recital to remember! Still, she also shows some true leadership and collaboration by turning to her dance mates to make sure they are keeping up!
The girls around her are seen to be trying to respond to her own uniqueness, but also trying to keep up themselves—which all made for an even cuter video!
In all, this video is a cuteness overload!
It goes to show all of us that you don’t have to be the best to get noticed. For all of us, no matter how old we get, we can learn a valuable lesson from this sweet little girl and her dance moves.
By just being yourself, you can march to the beat of your own drum, show your beautiful uniqueness, and have lots of fun!
We’re not sure what lies ahead for this adorable little performer, but we’re hoping that her parents keeps her in dance classes.
When you show this much promise and star quality at such a young age, there’s no telling where you might go! Until she makes it to the big time, we’ll be watching this clip over and over again.
